Discovering Morrisons in Livingston: A Comprehensive Review

Morrisons in Livingston is more than just a supermarket; it's a community hub that caters to a diverse range of shoppers. With its wheelchair-accessible entrance and amenities, this store strives to provide an inclusive shopping experience for everyone.

Accessibility Features

The supermarket prides itself on accessibility, offering a wheelchair-accessible car park and toilets. Shoppers can feel reassured knowing there's a wheelchair-accessible toilet available for their convenience. However, some customers have highlighted issues with staff availability in certain parts of the store, particularly in areas like the cafe and petrol station.

Shopping Experience

Many shoppers rave about the great produce available at Morrisons, from fresh fruits and vegetables to quality meats at the butchery. The spacious aisles allow for easy navigation, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience, especially during peak hours when the crowd can be overwhelming. Despite these positives, a few customers have expressed dissatisfaction with long wait times at checkout or for in-store services, noting instances where cashiers seemed rushed.

Cafe and Service Options

The Morrisons cafe offers a variety of meals, but customer experiences vary greatly. While some patrons enjoy their meals and appreciate the friendly service, others report extended wait times and issues with food quality. For instance, a customer mentioned a 45-minute wait for a breakfast that arrived cold, highlighting inconsistent service. The cafe environment could improve as well; while it serves as a gathering spot, cleanliness and timely service have been points of contention among visitors.

Payment Methods and Offers

Morrisons accepts various payment methods including debit cards, credit cards, and NFC mobile payments, making transactions quick and easy. Regular offers and promotions are frequent, catering to budget-conscious shoppers. However, some customers have voiced concerns about discrepancies between in-store prices and sales advertised online.

Environment and Community Initiatives

An often-discussed aspect of Morrisons is its commitment to the environment, with various recycling options available in-store, such as for batteries and plastic bags. Additionally, the supermarket has been noted for being LGBTQ+ friendly, aiming to create a welcoming atmosphere for all customers.

Conclusion: Highlights and Areas for Improvement

While Morrisons in Livingston boasts a fantastic selection of products, amenities, and generally friendly staff, there are clear areas that require attention. Improved staffing levels, particularly in the cafe and service points, could enhance the overall shopping experience. Customers appreciate the thoughtfulness of some staff members who go above and beyond, yet consistent service is crucial for maintaining customer loyalty. In summary, Morrisons remains a favorite for many due to its vast range of offerings and community spirit. Continuous feedback from customers can help shape an even better shopping experience for everyone who walks through its doors.

Edward Morris (15/05/2025, 05:11):
There was no social distancing measures in place at the supermarket, aside from floor markers near the checkouts. The staff did not enforce this, and customers were crowding and squeezing between queues. Trolleys and baskets were not being sanitized, and there was no monitoring of the number of people entering or leaving the store.

It took me 10 minutes to navigate through the crowded fresh department, and when I raised these concerns with two managers, Eva and Chris, they took it as a personal attack and became defensive. They claimed it was not their responsibility to monitor customers. When I mentioned that they themselves were not practicing social distancing, Eva laughed and said they had been working together for 4 weeks as if that made them immune.

Overall, it was a terrible experience at the store due to the lack of social distancing practices and the poor attitude displayed by the managers.

I popped into the store on Wednesday but was disappointed to find no hash browns at the deli counter, or any of the usual breakfast items on the hot counter. Feeling rather peckish, I decided to check out the restaurant. I opted for a full Scottish breakfast but was left dismayed to find that the sausages and potato scones had been reheated poorly, resulting in a tough and inedible texture. An unpleasant experience that should never have happened.

I would like to share my recent experience at the café within this supermarket. The lack of staff presence was quite noticeable, and the hot drinks machines were frequently out of order. Customers were left waiting for service, and even though it was not busy, the "hot" food was actually cold. It's clear why this place is no longer as bustling as it once was. Overall, my visit was very disappointing.

This store be forever freezing, mate. I do feel for the poor souls workin' there, stuck in that cold for hours on end. It's makin' me think twice 'bout goin' back for me shoppin'!
Jason Rogers (30/04/2025, 14:35):
The cafe always offers great value and was bustling as per usual. The free kids' meal deal was perfect for my grandson. I do sympathize with the staff, though, as they were incredibly busy! However, Sarah was delightful, with a constant smile on her face, and very helpful. 5 stars!

This has got to be my favorite supermarket. They always have fresh products and great deals, with a fishmonger, deli, butcher, baker, and even a chemist. The shelves are always well-stocked with fantastic products, and the staff are always polite. The cafe is good too, with plenty of meal options at great prices. The toilets are very clean, and there's also a newsagent and florist in the entrance. They also have a customer service desk if you need it, and a large car park with plenty of trolleys available.
Nicholas Morris (23/04/2025, 03:01):
Overall, I find the supermarket experience to be quite satisfactory. However, it would be appreciated if the checkout staff could be more understanding towards customers who may feel anxious or have neurodiversity. It can be disconcerting when items are scanned at a fast pace, almost as if it were a competition. On one occasion, I brought up this concern in a polite manner and was informed that cashiers are under pressure to work quickly due to time constraints.
