Asda - what a letdown, innit. I've splashed out a proper coin on me mum's rewards card in the past few weeks, right, and there's bugger all showing up.
If it did show up, it would display a spend on the 7th of December that included a wifi speaker. It was meant to be a bloody Christmas pressie but it don't work right. Took it back on Boxing Day but there was some memo from the big bosses saying no returns until the 27th.
Sadly, me mum lost the receipt for the gadget and on the 26th it got marked down by a tenner.
So they wouldn't bloody refund it or give a gift voucher on the 26th, and today it was even cheaper. Ended up payin' 25 quid for a duff speaker, got 15 quid voucher back, and no points for anythin' we bought.
And yeah, I've tried ringin' 'em about both problems, on both them numbers, messaged 'em on Messenger, and used the chatbot on the App. No response. Not a peep.
Shoddy Customer Service, ASDA. Proper shoddy.

This shop is absolutely dreadful! What was once a decent supermarket has now become a complete disaster! The aisles are chaotic, boxes scattered everywhere, items constantly out of stock, staff lacking proper training, trolleys old, dirty, and falling apart, no working scan and go devices in sight, outdated tills, and long-term employees leaving. It seems to be poorly managed now, and I fear it's on the decline! Asda in Glenrothes is a much better option, perhaps the management should pay attention to that!

I am so terribly ill and suffer from varying levels of pain. Shopping late at night makes it easier for me to navigate the store. However, since they brought in self-service, the staff have repeatedly embarrassed me by refusing to help me FIVE TIMES. They assured me it wouldn't happen again after the first time. They advertise as being open 24 hours, yet the staff won't assist you at a regular checkout no matter the circumstances. The last time, a staff member was incredibly rude and clearly unhappy to serve me. Glenrothes Asda is much better. They may be 24 hours, but their services are limited. You definitely don't receive the same level of service as you would from 8am to 8pm. Discrimination is prevalent and hurtful, embarrassing, and a disgrace to basic human decency.

There is always a wide variety of brands to choose from in the Supermarket. Personally, I enjoy trying out different ready meals. Every night around 8pm, items that are nearing their display until date are significantly reduced to just 5p or 10p each. Some nights, you can find amazing deals on items with plenty of shelf life but may have minor imperfections like rips or dents on the packaging or cans. It's a great way to save money and discover new products!

I had a bit of a mishap at the self-checkout in the supermarket. The machine wouldn't accept my £50 note, and there wasn't any sign indicating that large bills weren't allowed. I had to trek over to the customer service area at the front of the store, where a lady was engrossed in a lengthy phone call. The queue wasn't moving, and customers were getting a bit restless. Luckily, a kind soul offered to exchange some money with me so I could get back to the self-checkout.
The staff manning the self-checkout machines mentioned they were too swamped to assist with getting change or calling for help. It seemed like there just weren't enough staff on hand. And the ones who were around didn't seem all that willing to lend a hand. It's a shame, really. But a big thank you to that fellow customer who came to my rescue.

This Asda store is probably one of the worst that I visit frequently. Sadly, there aren't many large supermarkets this side of Kirkcaldy.
I reckon there must be only about 20 baskets for the entire shop because I often can't find any at the door. I end up having to squeeze past other customers and reach under the tills to grab one.
The trolleys are a mess. Every time I try to get one, they either have stiff wheels that won't turn or wheels with flat spots that keep banging and shaking my daughter in the child seat.
On several occasions, there were only 2 staff members working on all 3 self-service areas (basket, trolley, and scan as you go). The last straw was when I and three other customers stood there waiting for someone to bring bags, unable to continue scanning while queues kept growing. It's frustrating when people forget their bags, and even though there are bags on manned checkouts, they should also be available on self-service checkouts. Not every Asda store does this – for example, the one in Dumbarton leaves bags on their self-service checkouts. It's annoying that Asda doesn't have a consistent policy on this, and it just ends up irritating customers.

The policy of having to wait for a staff member to scan your bag is causing long queues and very frustrated customers. Generally speaking, it's an alright supermarket. It gets incredibly busy, so finding nearby parking can be a bit of a challenge. Sometimes there's a shortage of carts at the entrance. The self-checkout options are quite convenient, but I've noticed multiple times that when I use Scan & Go, the scanned prices don't always match the shelf prices. I've seen other reviews mentioning this issue as well. It's not too concerning when it's just a few pennies off, but there have been instances where prices were £2 or more incorrect. With the current cost of living crisis, people need to be extra careful with their spending, and it's disappointing that the store isn't ensuring price accuracy. This has occurred so frequently that it almost feels like a bit of a scam, even if it's unintentional.
Another complaint I have about this store is that often there are large trolleys of merchandise and cardboard boxes scattered throughout the aisles. Gone are the days of overnight shelf restocking, but this can greatly diminish the shopping experience when trying to navigate through the aisles. I've provided this feedback numerous times in surveys Asda has sent me after my visits, but it seems like either the feedback isn't reaching the store or they simply don't care.
Despite these issues, it's a very practical store with generally competitive prices (as long as you double-check them!) and a wide selection of products.

I'm not quite sure what's going on with ASDA lately. They stock a wide range of products, but when you try to get in touch with management to voice a complaint, they seem to be nowhere in sight. Instead, they'll send a team leader. It's also a challenge to actually make your purchase sometimes. Management often blames the lack of power for several tills not working. The question that comes to mind is why haven't they been fixed 🤔. And why do they seem to disappear when the store gets busy 🤔? When you do manage to speak to the GSM (General Store Manager), all they can offer is, "I'll look into it" repeatedly. But how can they truly investigate when they're not jotting down information or asking the right questions? The regional manager really ought to pay a visit to this store and figure out why they're losing customers. I've even witnessed people abandoning their full shopping carts and leaving the store simply because there aren't enough tills open.
