Customer Feedback and Overall Impression

Overall, Sainsbury's Kirkcaldy garners both praise and critique from visitors. Customers frequently mention the friendly staff and clean environment as positives, although some note occasional stock issues and long queues at checkouts. Extremely helpful crew, the grub is always fresh, never had a reason to gripe. The checkout team is always lovely and polite.
Kathleen Jones (20/07/2025, 11:22):
Amazing assortment of kombucha, they even had a CBD-infused kombucha blend which was a pleasant surprise! Would definitely recommend.
Louis Hamilton (14/07/2025, 20:10):
This store offers a good variety of products for a complete shopping experience without being overwhelmingly large.
Rebecca Stewart (12/07/2025, 18:25):
The supermarket is usually well-stocked and offers reasonable prices. It's located in a bustling retail park, which can make parking a bit challenging during peak hours. It seems to attract a lot of young drivers in the evenings, but they don't seem to cause any trouble. I have deducted one star because every time I visit, whether it's early morning, midday, or late evening, there is often a severe shortage of carts near the entrance. As a fully mobile person, this is frustrating for me, so I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for those who cannot walk far to find a cart. If this issue is resolved and there is a consistent supply of carts available at the entrance, this store would easily earn a 5-star rating.

The staff at Supermarket is delightful, always able to locate what I need. The prices are fantastic and the self-checkout with smart shop is fast and efficient. Cheers!

Ah mate, ya gotta have that nectar card or they'll be chargin' ya more. And now they've gone and made it all about these daft little games and challenges. When did goin' to the shops turn into a bloomin' game, I ask ya? It's meant to be a proper quality experience, but now it feels like one of them cheap sports shops.
Margaret Jackson (08/07/2025, 15:11):
Impeccably tidy supermarket with the most courteous and accommodating team members.
Terry Johnson (07/07/2025, 16:42):
I must say, the experience I had at the self-service checkout tills in Sainsbury's Kirkcaldy was rather unpleasant. During my first visit, I was accused of not paying for a carrier bag, even though I had brought my own and reused it. The staff member gave me a dirty look and muttered something incomprehensible when I tried to explain.

On my second visit, the checkout I initially used was slow to register the scanned barcode. I switched to another one, only to be reprimanded by a staff member who spoke to me in a disrespectful manner and made me feel embarrassed in front of other customers. I decided to leave the supermarket without making any purchases.

As someone who values good customer service, I found these interactions at Sainsbury's Kirkcaldy to be quite disappointing. Staff members in customer-facing roles should strive to provide a more positive experience for shoppers. Hopefully, they can improve their service standards in the future. 😔
Danielle Adams (07/07/2025, 08:13):
Wide shopping spaces, not too crowded, absolutely outstanding staff. They had no issue assisting me when I couldn't locate a product. They escorted me to the aisles and helped me find it, even though they weren't quite sure of its exact location.
Bradley Flores (04/07/2025, 22:33):
I had a jolly good shopping experience at the supermarket, the parking was quite convenient, and the staff were ever so helpful.
Nathan Lewis (04/07/2025, 03:57):
The staff is simply delightful and the range of food and products is top-notch!
Christine Green (03/07/2025, 01:40):
We popped in for a coffee pot. They had a good variety.
Gabriel Richardson (02/07/2025, 16:02):
Absolutely adore saving money with my Nectar card!
Lawrence Flores (01/07/2025, 16:46):
It was quite alright, not too chaotic, and they had all their promotions on display, which was lovely to see. Their bakery is unique in that, unlike others, they have a proper cake display counter... Lovely!!!!! They've also recently added an Argos store at the front where the cafe used to be, and that will definitely be a lifesaver lol
Diane Garcia (30/06/2025, 21:37):
Christmas food shopping can be quite hectic, with lots of options to choose from. It's a busy time but there is definitely no shortage of choices available!
Diane Morales (27/06/2025, 15:34):
The security blokes just trail you everywhere. Apart from that, it's alright.
Patricia Jenkins (26/06/2025, 05:23):
Lovely selection of fresh fruits and veggies at this supermarket, with friendly staff at the checkout and plenty of parking available. However, the shopping experience is somewhat marred by the security guard, who seems a bit too eager and judgmental based on your attire. I recall entering once in my work attire, complete with shirt and tie, and he treated me kindly. Yet, when I returned in more relaxed Sunday clothes, I couldn't shake off the feeling of being closely monitored and judged. It seems that my casual outfit didn't meet his standards. Now, I prefer to shop at Asda, where everyone is welcomed with open arms, regardless of how they are dressed.
Tyler Lee (25/06/2025, 16:06):
A splendid supermarket, I must say! Ample parking spaces, a delightful breakfast selection, and impeccably clean premises. The staff is truly lovely, and the establishment is conveniently wheelchair accessible with dedicated parking bays and restrooms for disabled individuals. Quite the gem of a supermarket, if I do say so myself!
Sharon Hamilton (23/06/2025, 23:28):
I visited this supermarket recently for a few items, but I won't be returning. I had a trolley and used the self-checkout without any issues until I reached the exit. There were no signs indicating that the trolleys would lock at the door, causing mine to trigger the alarms. The abrupt stop caused it to hit my foot and leg, resulting in quite a bit of pain. To make matters worse, I was made to feel like a criminal as everyone stared.

When I approached the manager about the incident, she was unsympathetic and blamed rowdy teenagers for the problem. I understand the need for security measures, but it would have been helpful to have clear signage in place. The manager reluctantly gave me a £5 gift card, sarcastically commenting that she hoped it would make me feel better before storming off. This whole experience was embarrassing and humiliating.

Needless to say, I won't be patronizing this supermarket again, and I would advise others to do the same.
Larry Brooks (23/06/2025, 04:37):
What a brilliant store! The shelves are stocked to the brim, the staff is delightful, and the coffee is top-notch. Couldn't ask for more. Picked up a Sunday roast for later - all top-quality stuff.
