Arthur Lee (19/08/2025, 12:20):
I absolutely adore shopping at this place as it's one of the major stores and I usually find everything on my list. The staff is consistently friendly and accommodating.

Upon entering, you can pick up handheld devices, but they are only usable if you possess a Nectar points card. These gadgets allow you to scan items as you add them to your basket, helping you keep tabs on your total as you browse. Additionally, there are dedicated checkout counters for those using these devices, which really expedites the process.

Overall, it's been a fantastic shopping experience.
Zachary Anderson (19/08/2025, 11:23):
What a lovely supermarket! One can find all that one desires. I particularly adore the extensive range of clothing options available.
Susan Walker (18/08/2025, 20:16):
Had a right nightmare at the supermarket, mate. The bloke who seems to run the joint always looks like he's chewing on a wasp, never seen him crack a smile. And these new barriers they've put in? What a palaver! You have to scan your receipt before you can even leave the self-service area, which completely defeats the purpose of it being quick and easy. And don't get me started on the waste of paper! Proper weird, if you ask me. On the bright side, there's a new Starbucks in there now, and one of the staff members, this lovely Asian lass, is an absolute gem.
Amber Hamilton (18/08/2025, 18:45):
Absolutely everything is all in one spot here, can you believe it? And guess what? Argos is nestled right within the store as well. The selection of clothing and home accessories is always top-notch, with a wide variety to choose from. Simply amazing!
Dennis Jordan (14/08/2025, 19:55):
Great place for top-notch groceries.....but why do they constantly rearrange the shelves...even during COVID times when folks just want to grab what they need and go? It's disorienting to navigate a store where the layout is always changing, causing you to spend extra time hunting for items.
Andrew Jones (14/08/2025, 02:24):
Absolutely adore this spot. The team is ever so helpful, and the aisles are spacious, with items placed logically for easy browsing. Only thing I miss is the cafe serving up hearty meals like they did before, but given the times of Covid, it’s quite understandable.
Danielle Ortiz (10/08/2025, 05:50):
The supermarket offers a splendid array of fresh products, with prices that won't break the bank. The staff is incredibly amiable and helpful, making it easy to locate everything in one convenient location.
Anthony Ward (08/08/2025, 12:59):
What a delightful layout of the store! The variety of high-quality food items is quite impressive. I particularly enjoy Sainsbury's clothing selection for women; it's both stylish and well-made. However, I do wish they offered a range for plus-size ladies, starting from size 22 and up, including lingerie. The staff was incredibly helpful and respectful. Their household goods are also top-notch and very much on-trend.
Susan Rivera (08/08/2025, 11:02):
The gents' toilets at Sainsbury's Blackhall are in need of a thorough cleaning, particularly the disabled one which is slightly better.
Layla Stewart (04/08/2025, 05:54):
I absolutely adore Sainsbury's, but I must say, I can't stand seeing those wilting, unwatered plants at the entrance! Who in their right mind would purchase a lifeless plant? It breaks my heart to witness a once thriving and lovingly nurtured plant left to wither away...such a sorrowful and heartless sight. Please, do give those plants a drink or just don't sell them at all.
Grace Foster (03/08/2025, 07:32):
The staff here are not very welcoming, mostly young ones who seem to avoid assisting customers and prefer chatting amongst themselves.

It appears they struggle with inventory management, often running out of popular flavors from a brand while shelves are stocked with less favored options.

Management doesn't seem to prioritize customer convenience when rearranging items; they may store items in the back shortly before closing, likely to avoid paying extra for overtime.

I suggest going to Tesco instead - they offer a wider selection, lower prices, friendlier staff, longer opening hours, essentially excelling in every aspect.
Allison Lee (02/08/2025, 04:36):
The pricing, promotions, and rewards program vary greatly from the level of service provided.
Gabriel Perry (02/08/2025, 00:30):
On Wednesday at 6.30 pm, there was only one checkout open for the entire store, leading to an unavoidably long line. I decided to try the self-checkout with a full cart, but it was a complete farce. It seems this large store only wants customers to purchase a few items at a time. Save yourself the trouble of doing your weekly shop there; there are plenty of other supermarkets in the vicinity.
Bradley Reyes (01/08/2025, 00:58):
The store hours are quite convenient, open until 10 every evening, but by that time it starts to resemble a Soviet-era supermarket, especially in the fruit and veg section.

In terms of product selection, it's alright, but they rarely introduce new items or keep things fresh, which can get a bit monotonous.

Now, let's talk about pricing - it's frankly outrageous. They seem to have taken full advantage of the COVID situation and the rising cost of living. Their "Nectar price" tactic is quite deceitful, displaying a false lower price and I believe it should be banned.

As for the neighborhood, the surrounding car park is a nightmare full of potholes. Despite being a significant presence in the area, they haven't contributed much to the community. There are vast unused indoor and outdoor spaces left to decay. It feels like all the profit is flowing in one direction without any investment back into the area. Why not consider adding car chargers, a café, a communal area, a playground, better pedestrian and bike access? It would make a big difference.
Ethan Barnes (31/07/2025, 14:02):
I absolutely adore Sainsbury's at Craigleith, it's ever so convenient for me. I've been a loyal customer for numerous years now, and all the staff are exceedingly kind and helpful.
Sophia Thompson (30/07/2025, 05:11):
Quite similar to the majority of other Sainsbury's stores. They claim that electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities will be available soon, but as of now, the chargers are still not operational.
Ann Coleman (29/07/2025, 13:32):
If you're coming in through the Gorgie Road entrance, be prepared for a bit of a trek before reaching the aisles. You'll need to go through two sets of double doors, veer left past some tall screens, turn right at the end, and then make your way all the way down to pass through the entry gates. With any luck, you'll find one of the few manned checkout counters open, allowing you to squeeze through. Alternatively, if you opt for the self-service checkouts, be sure to grab your receipt as the exit gates will require you to scan the code on it to get through! If not, you might have to wait for another shopper or staff member to assist in opening them – quite a hassle, really!
Deborah Cook (28/07/2025, 11:26):
That supermarket is rather typical, but what sets it apart is the presence of Argos and Habitat within its premises. It adds a unique touch to the shopping experience, offering a diverse range of products in one convenient location.
Russell Campbell (27/07/2025, 01:33):
Fabulous supermarkets with a fantastic selection of fresh produce and top-notch discount coupons.
James Powell (25/07/2025, 20:05):
Supermarket with a massive variety of products. I've been using their click and collect service. The team member I interact with who delivers my groceries is absolutely brilliant. Incredibly polite, great at chatting, super efficient and professional. I'll definitely be utilizing this service again.
