Exploring Morrisons Supermarket in Glasgow: A Mixed Bag of Experiences

Morrisons, a well-known supermarket chain in the UK, has been a staple for locals in Glasgow. However, recent feedback indicates a downturn in certain aspects of its service and offerings. From clothing to food, let's delve into the highlights and challenges faced by this supermarket.

Store Layout and Accessibility

One consistent theme among customers is the curious layout of the store. Many shoppers find it challenging to navigate through the aisles, noting that some areas feel cramped due to narrow paths. Moreover, the wheelchair-accessible entrance and wheelchair-accessible toilet are critical for ensuring that all customers can shop comfortably, but improvements are still needed.

Product Availability and Quality

Despite being praised for their great produce, several comments highlight persistent issues with empty shelves. Customers express frustration over the lack of stocked items, especially at peak shopping times. It seems that while some areas like the salad bar are consistently fresh, staples in other sections often run low.

Payments and Customer Service Challenges

The checkout experience at Morrisons has garnered mixed reviews. Some customers have encountered problems with payments, specifically with credit cards and debit cards not processing correctly. There are complaints about the customer service team's responsiveness, particularly when it comes to resolving payment issues or acknowledging customer queries.

Inclusivity and Friendly Environment

Morrisons has made strides in creating an LGBTQ+ friendly atmosphere, offering a transgender safe space within its stores. This commitment to inclusivity is commendable, yet there are reports of staff interactions that sometimes detract from the overall customer experience.

Amenities and Additional Services

This supermarket also offers a range of service options including a pharmacy and facilities for recycling glass bottles. The availability of NFC mobile payments and no-contact delivery options enhances convenience for tech-savvy shoppers.

Delivery and In-Store Options

While many appreciate the option for in-store pick-up, the delivery service has faced criticism due to inconsistent stock levels and delays. Shoppers looking for a quick visit sometimes leave frustrated if their items are unavailable.

Conclusion: A Call for Improvement

In conclusion, while Morrisons in Glasgow holds potential with its diverse offerings and community-oriented services, a noticeable decline in product availability and customer service creates a precarious situation. With proper management and attention to customer feedback, this supermarket can reclaim its reputation as a favorite local shopping destination.

Morrisons Bailleston - Dreadfully undermanned, Managers who speak to their staff in a horribly abusive manner. Cash registers that never seem to function, exit barriers that are dysfunctional and the situation is deteriorating!
Karen Alexander (19/07/2025, 06:10):
Extremely helpful and friendly staff, such a tidy and well-kept store. It was my first visit, but it definitely won't be my last.
Evelyn Perez (18/07/2025, 10:57):
A good majority of the staff at this Supermarket are extremely arrogant and rude individuals. Every now and then, you might come across a staff member who treats you with respect, but for the most part, they act as if they own the place. It is futile to report them to the managers as they are equally ignorant and intimidating, and likely to always take the side of their arrogant and ignorant staff. Shopping there is never a pleasant experience. I had to visit that awful store again today and was harassed by Lindsay's associates. It's a typical situation where individuals with no real purpose in life seek to intimidate others when given a slight bit of power.

I recently had a frustrating experience at a cafe where my friend and I were refused service because we don't live together. I took the time to review the current Covid restrictions in Scotland, which clearly state that two individuals from different households are allowed to meet indoors or outdoors. Therefore, I couldn't understand why Morrison's was enforcing different rules. It was a disappointing situation that left me questioning their decisions.
Brittany Jones (15/07/2025, 16:04):
Decent store, but prices are not very friendly. They used to be more reasonable, but now the price changes are just ridiculous, almost every 2 days. I try to limit my visits because of this, but some items are still okay while for others I prefer to shop around.
Matthew Hernandez (15/07/2025, 10:38):
The aisles are dreadful. They're far too long and narrow. The layout was much better before the so-called improvements made years ago. It definitely needs to be redone. Plus, it's way too pricey compared to other supermarkets.
Samuel Gonzales (11/07/2025, 16:20):
The staff seems to be having a bit of trouble with the meal deal. I've been in twice now and ended up wasting 20 minutes each time as they go back and forth trying different items.
David Collins (11/07/2025, 16:11):
This tidy store offers a decent selection of items, perfect for the locals. Definitely worth a visit, even if it's just to grab your lunch.
Randy Brown (10/07/2025, 00:06):
I went to the Morrisons in Perth recently and must say, it was quite in need of a good overhaul. The shelves were dirty and the cafe experience was quite shocking - they didn't have half of the items listed on the menu! When we inquired, we were told that someone was off that day. While the staff were friendly, I don't think I'll be returning to this store for my shopping needs.
Abigail Myers (08/07/2025, 16:52):
My dear, the absence of your heavenly apple pies in the last fortnight has caused quite a stir in our household! My husband, bless his soul, is now suffering from withdrawal symptoms, as 4 o'clock shopping time just isn't the same without a taste of your delicious creations. We kindly request, if it is at all possible, to bake a few extra pies or perhaps reserve one for us. Trust me when I say, our coffee just doesn't taste as delightful without one of your perfectly crafted apple pies to accompany it. Thank you ever so much for considering our plea. Warm regards, Ann Davidson
James Gonzalez (07/07/2025, 10:36):
Excellent selection of in-house made products. The Sundays and rolls are absolutely delightful. In my opinion, the butcher's meat surpasses all others. Additionally, they continue to offer a 10% discount to NHS workers. Outstanding job, keep it up!
Bradley Phillips (06/07/2025, 05:47):
I frequently pop into the Baillieston store and I must say, the customer service there is top-notch! The staff are incredibly friendly, always wearing a smile, and eager to assist in any way they can. Truly a delightful shopping experience!
Samuel Allen (03/07/2025, 07:44):
Apologies for the brief comment, just popped in quickly. The supermarket was tidy and the staff were friendly, but prices were a tad high. Seems like costs are rising everywhere these days, for one reason or another.
Alexander Sanders (01/07/2025, 13:14):
This shop just doesn't cut it for me anymore ever since they shut down the restaurant. My family and I would grab a bite here multiple times a week while doing our shopping. The prices are a tad steep and I reckon they could do with more deals and promotions.
Timothy Gray (26/06/2025, 16:48):
I shall ne'er set foot back in this market. There be naught worse than bein' followed 'round, thinkin' ye be intendin' to steal, makin' ye feel ill at ease. If ye suspect someone of wrongdoin', summon security t' prevent 'em from departin'. And t' the large, bold manager - be mindful o' how yer actin', lest ye come off as a clown. Arrr!
Andrea Ward (25/06/2025, 20:52):
It's the chilliest supermarket I have ever ventured into.
Grace Powell (25/06/2025, 05:55):
Actually, not too shabby, love that they have a butcher's and pharmacy now. Ever since they've extended their opening hours, it's been a real game changer. Personally, I find the one in Easterhouse to be top-notch. Cheers!
Emily Johnson (23/06/2025, 02:13):
Stock levels are disappointingly low, and the cold aisles seem to be frozen always. Additionally, there is consistently a long wait at the checkout.
Russell Wright (20/06/2025, 07:19):
Great big store with a friendly staff and a wide variety of options. The selection is fantastic and I had an overall pleasant experience.
Theresa Gomez (18/06/2025, 21:53):
I visited this store today and the staff member who was supposed to be helping at the self-checkout was incredibly unhelpful, rude, and very unprofessional. I politely asked which till was available and she just waved her hand, saying "Can't you see them? Go to the one at the bottom then." It wasn't just her words that were unpleasant, but her entire demeanor towards me. As I was scanning my items, I could hear her being just as dismissive with other customers. If she was having a bad day, she shouldn't take it out on us paying customers.
