Customer Experiences

The quality of the produce is absolutely dreadful, it's like a load of rubbish just decaying in crates. The meat quality is equally as bad. I'm convinced they're adding water to half of it to increase the weight. They've introduced a completely unfair pricing system where the prices fluctuate depending on whether you have a nectar card or not. And they can't even be bothered to hire enough staff to operate the checkouts, all the while hiking up prices. It's truly appalling to see the amount of self-checkouts they have here. There are so many drawbacks that it makes me want to boycott this company altogether.

UPDATE: From 1 star to 3

Received a pleasant surprise on 22/04/2023 around 6.50pm when two fine gentlemen, STEVEN and LEE, provided exceptional assistance. Despite the store transitioning into what feels like Alcatraz with all its security measures, their kindness stood out. I was in search of honey and they graciously escorted me to its location, truly making a difference in my shopping experience. Their gesture lifted my spirits and consequently boosted my rating. Much gratitude to these gentlemen for their awesome service.

Store is spacious, though my lad misplaced his toy car at Sainsbury's Meadow Bank.

UPDATE (from 5 stars to 1)

Felt unjustly accused during my recent visit to the store. While purchasing groceries during the lively fringe festival, I also bought a small helicopter for my 2-year-old at £3. Although it was part of a three-pack, the propeller broke off after two months. Upon returning it for a replacement without a receipt, the staff couldn't trace the purchase through my nectar card history beyond a month. Despite it being their faulty product, the handling of the situation left me feeling foolish and dishonest. Disheartened by the experience, we left without further confrontation. Truly disappointing.

Supermarket is a brilliant spot to fetch all yer essentials and goodies.
Olivia Edwards (08/07/2025, 23:24):
Excellent products, top-notch service, and love using my Nectar card at the checkout! 😄
Dennis Ford (07/07/2025, 06:17):
This place is top-notch for all our daily essentials, love it to bits. The level of organization and the variety of products stocked up is impressive. Massive shoutout to the hardworking staff for their consistent dedication in making this supermarket a gem!
Dennis Brooks (07/07/2025, 02:44):
Seems like the chaps at the supermarket have the liberty to decline a sale if you request a quick service.
Quite peculiar how assisting customers with filling out forms or using their phones deems them as patrons, even when they leave without making a purchase.
It appears that Sainsbury's is content with their staff displaying rudeness towards customers and are not particularly interested in receiving money from people like myself.
My mates and I won't be revisiting that store. I sensed a hint of racism directed towards me.
Absolutely appalling!
However, the folks at the service station are an absolute joy in comparison. It may be a tad pricier, but one encounters no hassles.
Ralph Jackson (06/07/2025, 22:12):
Cameron Toll's Sainsbury's is a right gem, I must say. The prices are quite reasonable compared to the other supermarkets in the mall, and they keep proper hours too. It's my go-to spot for grocery shopping, no doubt about it.
James Sullivan (05/07/2025, 01:16):
I alwaýs love popping into Sainsbury's, such a lovely clean supermarket with a great selection to choose from, and the prices are fantastic too.
Mary Lopez (04/07/2025, 18:41):
Their efforts to prevent theft are way too excessive and create a dreadful atmosphere, with barricades and obstacles all over the place making it hard to exit the store.
Terry Price (03/07/2025, 18:37):
Great parking lot, spacious store.
Megan Butler (02/07/2025, 09:20):
I us'd to fancy shoppin' 'ere until they brought in this Guantanamo Bay Prison-style exit procedure where ya ar' guilty of procurin' goods (shopliftin') and CAN'T exit without producin' a receipt reinforced by the Warder shoutin' at me as I tried to exit without a purchase, "YOUR RECEIPT, YOU NEED YOUR RECEIPT" Another customer said to me, it's a ridiculous set-up isn't it. I don't 'ave a receipt, I just want to go to the toilet. WHICH TILL WERE YOU AT? I wasn't at a till. YOU NEED A RECEIPT. Angry now, I then went back into the store and squeezed past a barrier further along. So all in all, a one way trap whera ye ar' guilty and temporarily imprisoned unless ye prove yer innocence via a scan of yer Parole Receipt and then and only then ar' ye free to go. As a lesson in customer care this one doesn't register on any chart whatsoever! I won't be back.
Maria Gutierrez (27/06/2025, 05:36):
Today I took my client to the Supermarket for a bacon sandwich and a cup of tea. The staff were quite patient and friendly. My client thought the bacon was delicious, although the bread roll was a tad dry. The tea, however, was quite lovely.

Later on, we returned for another cup of tea and a slice of cake. My granola slice was absolutely scrumptious, and my client thoroughly enjoyed their donut. The prices were fair, and the restaurant was clean and tidy. Additionally, there was good wheelchair access.
Steven Bennett (23/06/2025, 15:21):
I must say, I had the pleasure of experiencing Curtis's exemplary customer service at the self-checkout yesterday. He was incredibly helpful, accommodating, and all the while, had a smile on his face.

It was a stark contrast from my past interactions with your staff, particularly at the cigarette counter. The Asian ladies there seemed disinterested in assisting customers, opting instead to engage in conversations with their Asian friends in Hindi or Punjabi. This resulted in customers waiting for prolonged periods for their attention.
Dorothy Morales (23/06/2025, 03:30):
Sainsbury's is top-notch for groceries, especially when it comes to their fruit and veg selection. I'm a big fan of their seedless white grapes, as well as their bananas and apples. The bakery section also deserves a shoutout for their super fresh and delicious bread.
Russell Foster (22/06/2025, 02:14):
Lovely spot for some grocery shopping, I must say.
Elizabeth Stewart (21/06/2025, 06:21):
Absolutely spot on for that area. Saved my childcare dilemma.😀
Victoria Jackson (19/06/2025, 13:22):
A rather sizable store where you'll likely fulfill your shopping requirements. Somewhat lacking in certain departments, particularly noticed the flower and cleaning products section to be somewhat understocked.
John Taylor (18/06/2025, 04:08):
Quite surprisingly large for a store located within a shopping center. They offer an extensive variety of food items typically found in a major supermarket, such as bakery goods, household products, and even fresh flowers and plants.

There are numerous scan and go devices available, with the checkout closest to the entrance, making it more convenient to utilize them for your shopping. In fact, there are more scan and go and self-service checkouts than traditional tills, which are situated at the far end of the store.

Overall, this shop caters to all your needs in a very convenient location.
Amelia Gray (17/06/2025, 22:59):
It seems like things have taken a turn for the worse lately at Supermarket. The layout keeps changing just when you've finally figured it out, making it hard to find what you need. And the beef mince being vacuum packed now is a pain - it doesn't break up like it used to when cooking. The new system where you have to scan your receipt to leave is really annoying. And on top of all that, they're using the current situation as an excuse to hike up prices more than they should. It's all pretty frustrating, to be honest.
Shirley Myers (15/06/2025, 02:19):
Fresh food might cost a few extra pennies, but it's definitely worth it!
