Exploring Well Pharmacy in Glasgow: A Comprehensive Review

Well Pharmacy, located in the heart of Glasgow, is a pharmacy that promises accessibility and convenience for its customers. However, the mixed reviews from patrons highlight both strengths and weaknesses in their service. This article delves into the various aspects of Well Pharmacy, focusing on in-store pick-up, accessibility, and service options.

In-Store Pick-Up and Accessibility

For those needing medications quickly, Well Pharmacy offers an in-store pick-up option, which can be a great convenience. However, some customers expressed frustration at the pharmacy's inconsistent operating hours. Several reviews mention arriving just before closing time, only to be turned away despite the posted hours indicating they were open longer.

The wheelchair-accessible entrance and wheelchair-accessible car park make the pharmacy a viable option for individuals with mobility challenges. Accessibility is essential, especially for those requiring medications without added complexity. Unfortunately, customer experiences show that the overall management of the pharmacy may hinder the benefits of its accessibility features.

Payments and Service Options

Regarding payment flexibility, Well Pharmacy accepts credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments. This range of payment options is designed to enhance the customer experience, allowing for quick and easy transactions during in-store shopping visits. However, many customers noted dissatisfaction with the service they received, often citing rude staff and long wait times.

Customer Experience: A Mixed Bag

The experiences shared by customers vary widely. On one hand, some patrons highlighted friendly and helpful staff members who went above and beyond to address their needs. For instance, one customer praised a staff member named Mhorven for being polite, professional, and caring. Such instances show that when service is performed well, it significantly enhances customer satisfaction.

Conversely, numerous reviews pointed out harsh treatment from staff, with complaints about unprofessional behavior and inadequate responses to simple requests. Instances where customers felt insulted or mistreated have led many to recommend avoiding Well Pharmacy altogether.

Planning Your Visit

If considering a visit to Well Pharmacy, planning is crucial. Given the mixed reviews on operational hours, it's advisable to call ahead to confirm if they're open, especially if you need something urgently. While the pharmacy looks great on paper—open late, wheelchair accessible, and with multiple payment options—the reality may not always align with expectations. Crowds can also be a concern, especially during peak hours, which exacerbates the already noted service issues.

Conclusion

In summary, while Well Pharmacy in Glasgow has potential with its accessibility features, multiple payment options, and a few commendable staff members, significant improvements are needed in customer service and reliability. The pharmacy remains a convenient choice, but customers should approach with caution, aware of the varying service quality they might encounter.

Christine Ramirez (30/07/2025, 17:19):
My recent trip to the pharmacy was an absolute disaster. We were supposed to have our prescription ready before Easter, but it was never processed. The female pharmacist was incredibly rude, and her colleague Andrew was even worse – his level of unhelpfulness and disrespect was beyond belief.

I can't help but wonder who is in charge of quality control at this establishment and how they allow such behavior towards customers. This has been by far the worst pharmacy experience I've had in the past ten years. I highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs. The staff here are a prime example of terrible customer service. Both employees could benefit greatly from some re-education in basic manners.
Willie Ortiz (28/07/2025, 16:21):
I must say, the prices they have listed are not quite accurate.
Joyce Harris (25/07/2025, 06:29):
I must say, this place deserves just one star, only because I can't award it none. I was told by NHS24 that this pharmacy would be open until 11pm. Imagine my surprise when I arrived at 10:03pm, only to find it closed. And would you believe it, their website also states they are open until 11pm. Are they deliberately misleading customers to receive more business from NHS24? Simply disgraceful. I will have to return to the pharmacy in the morning for my "emergency medication" and inquire why they have false information on their website. If you have the choice, I would advise steering clear of this place.
Rachel Cook (24/07/2025, 01:51):
After reading several reviews, I must admit I was a tad concerned that the pharmacy might be closed over the bank holiday weekend. However, to my delight, it was open with welcoming staff and a lovely, modern store.
Ethan Roberts (22/07/2025, 05:25):
I will never forgive 'em.
They didn't sort out the repeat prescription, and they didn't even admit their mistake. When I asked for it, they were downright rude.
They don't deserve to be working in the health sector.
Albert Walker (20/07/2025, 09:52):
I rang them up at 8 p.m. inquiring about paracetamol suppositories for a wee one. They managed to locate some, so I popped in at 8:20 and nabbed what I needed. The prices may be on the steep side, but they're the only pharmacy open until 9, so I'm absolutely chuffed with the service.
Andrew Myers (19/07/2025, 22:31):
The online information appears to be inaccurate. I stopped by at 10:30 pm but found the pharmacy to be closed.
Isabella Moore (17/07/2025, 07:53):
Way superior to the old Lloyds days, Shona is an absolute gem!
Karen Stewart (17/07/2025, 06:36):
I've got a tricky mix of medications that are hard to come by for various prescriptions - some private and some from the NHS for adults and a child. Even though Alderman Road isn't my local pharmacy, it's the only place that has truly understood the different requirements and barriers and managed to overcome them effortlessly. They always say, "it's our job." I can't praise the team here enough - from the overall service to buying affordable face wipes or fulfilling complex medication orders, they are truly exceptional. Everyone should show them kindness - they work tirelessly to care for patients with complicated needs and do it so well. I truly appreciate this team and urge everyone to protect them at all costs. Especially Claire.
Debra Jones (16/07/2025, 01:26):
I must say, this pharmacy is absolutely brilliant - always so helpful!
Logan Rodriguez (12/07/2025, 01:46):
Short-staffed and the staff they employ is completely incompetent. They should consider making some changes.
Benjamin Gutierrez (10/07/2025, 09:41):
I saw on the website that Pharmacy was supposed to be open until 9pm, so I arrived at ten to nine. However, the security guard informed me that they were not allowing any more customers in as there were still people inside waiting to be serviced. There were only three individuals inside, and I just needed some over-the-counter medication and had the exact change ready, but no luck!

If you advertise closing time as 9pm, then you should close at that time, not ten minutes earlier!
Jordan Young (08/07/2025, 00:56):
I can't find a single fault with this pharmacy. The staff is the most helpful I've ever encountered. They really go above and beyond to assist. It's definitely the top pharmacy I've ever patronized.
Johnny Williams (07/07/2025, 18:52):
I was given methadone instead of paracetamol.
Keith Gonzalez (03/07/2025, 22:13):
The reception at this pharmacy is simply dreadful. I arrived at 8:20 pm, with closing time at 9 pm, only to be turned away. I was informed that they offer late-night service but require the prescription, and the young lady behind the counter reacted with audible annoyance as if it were a major inconvenience. Equally impolite was the young male pharmacist, who stood proudly behind his counter, declaring loudly that he was too busy and would attend to it when he pleased. I would recommend avoiding this place altogether. Furthermore, the establishment is quite dirty and could benefit from a thorough cleaning!
Jack Ford (01/07/2025, 12:53):
I recently had to shell out £22 for blood testing strips for my 3-year-old with type 1 diabetes, even though these are typically covered by prescription. I was in a bind and resorted to the pharmacy for an emergency supply. It's outrageous to think about how many others might be facing the same financial burden – this vital resource should be freely available to all type 1 diabetics.
Ethan Nelson (01/07/2025, 05:03):
Visited the Well Meadow pharmacy today, expecting it to be open. What a waste of time! It was closed.
Kimberly Bennett (30/06/2025, 14:53):
Absolutely splendid, as per usual.
Jennifer Morales (30/06/2025, 07:36):
They shut their doors at 8pm even though they claimed to be open until 11pm. I required my medication that evening, so it turned out to be completely pointless.
Carolyn Edwards (30/06/2025, 02:08):
This is the most terrible thing I have ever witnessed.
