Exploring Boots: Your Ultimate Beauty Supply Store in Edinburgh

If you're in Edinburgh and on the lookout for a reliable beauty supply store, look no further than Boots located at Craigleith. This store offers a variety of products ranging from cosmetics to health supplies, but it’s important to be aware of the experiences shared by previous customers.

In-Store Shopping and Accessibility Features

Boots is designed for convenience, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance and ample parking space, including a wheelchair-accessible car park. When you step inside, you will find a clean, well-organized store, although some customers have expressed concerns regarding accessibility during peak hours.

Payment Options Available

The store supports multiple payment options, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments. This versatility ensures that you can make your purchases with ease. However, it is worth noting that some customers have faced issues with service at the checkout, which can sometimes lead to long wait times.

In-Store Pick-Up and Quick Visits

For those who prefer quick shopping trips, Boots offers an in-store pick-up option for online orders. While this can save time, customers have reported frustrations with inaccurate notifications, leading to wasted trips. A few individuals found themselves waiting longer than expected to collect their prescriptions, emphasizing the need for improved queue management.

Customer Service Experience

Unfortunately, feedback about customer service has been mixed. While some staff members have been noted for their helpfulness, others have been described as rude or dismissive. For instance, a recent review mentioned a particularly unpleasant encounter where a member of staff was short-tempered when addressing a customer’s inquiry.

Pharmacy Services and Wait Times

The pharmacy within Boots is often busy, and customers have reported long wait times, sometimes exceeding 30 minutes just to collect prescriptions. Several reviews highlight that despite the presence of multiple staff members, service efficiency remains a significant concern.

Accessibility Amenities

Boots provides various amenities that cater to its customers' needs, including a wheelchair-accessible toilet. However, there have been complaints about the hygiene and upkeep of these facilities, indicating a potential area for improvement.

Delivery Services and Future Improvements

While Boots offers delivery services, feedback suggests a need for more reliable communication regarding order status. Customers have expressed frustration over missing notifications about ready prescriptions or products.

Conclusion

In summary, Boots at Craigleith offers a vast selection of beauty and health products, complemented by convenient payment options and accessibility features. However, the store must address ongoing concerns regarding customer service and wait times to enhance the shopping experience. Whether you are planning a quick visit or stopping by for an extensive shopping trip, being mindful of these aspects can help mitigate any potential challenges.

Lovely staff. Found all I needed. The store is spotless and organized. Following the guidelines. Multiple staff at the registers for a fast checkout and departure.
Hannah James (02/06/2025, 08:48):
This here is my local beauty supply store, you know? Sometimes there can be quite the line, and they shut down right around lunchtime, mate.
Jessica King (02/06/2025, 05:40):
I had the pleasure of visiting the Craigleith store to pick up a prescription, and I must say, it was quite an interesting experience. While I was there, I observed a member of staff, a middle-aged lady with pink hair, displaying some rather unpleasant behavior towards her male colleague. It was quite surprising to witness such aggy attitude from her. If someone spoke to me like that at work, we would definitely be having a chat about it! The young man, on the other hand, was incredibly polite and helpful. It was evident that he was taken aback by her behavior, as we exchanged a look while she continued to berate him. Her unprofessionalism was truly disappointing. I couldn't understand what her issue was, but she definitely had a chip on her shoulder.
Melissa Parker (30/05/2025, 21:26):
Please refrain from coming in for a prescription between 12:30 and 1 pm as there is only one pharmacist available and they will be on their lunch break. It's quite absurd, really!
Nicholas Rogers (29/05/2025, 16:28):
Oh, we all adore Boots, don't we? It's a fabulous one-stop shop for all your beauty needs. And let me tell you, their loyalty card is absolutely top-notch. It actually rewards you for your loyalty, can you believe it? They send you these fantastic offers tailored just for you through the card and their app. I'll definitely be a loyal Boots shopper for life! 😃
Joyce Ortiz (29/05/2025, 12:12):
I came to this beauty supply store as a last resort, after being let down by our Lloyds pharmacy in South Queensferry. However, it seems that this store is also overwhelmed with the influx of new customers. It's a pity because it's not the fault of the staff.
To make matters worse, the wait times are unacceptable. Waiting for 30 minutes to collect a prescription that was ordered over 10 days ago is incredibly frustrating.
Jean Moore (26/05/2025, 12:10):
There was a long line at the beauty supply store, but the staff were working diligently to assist everyone.
Andrew Stewart (26/05/2025, 00:25):
I paid a visit to Boots at Craigleith to pick up an order from their website. The lady who assisted me was incredibly polite, double-checked my information, and swiftly handed over the item. To my surprise, I didn't have to wait in line at all. They always seem to have staff available on the shop floor who can open another checkout if things get busy. Additionally, they offer various amenities such as disabled access, an optician, a pharmacy, photo processing services, restrooms, and a baby changing area. It's worth noting that on weekends, the number 38 bus doesn't stop at Craigleith Retail Park, but instead at the Esso garage on Craigleith Road. I find this odd because weekends are likely their busiest time, making it challenging for those with mobility issues to navigate the area between the Esso garage and the Holiday Inn entrance to reach the crossing. It's particularly difficult for these individuals to make their way with their shopping to Craigleith Road, the Esso garage, or the area opposite the Esso station. This decision by Lothian Buses seems quite puzzling.
Larry Brown (26/05/2025, 00:15):
I popped into the store to buy some perfume for myself and was delighted by the excellent range and special offers on display. They had everything I could need at a pharmacy, and the staff were very happy and helpful.
Nancy Ortiz (25/05/2025, 18:41):
The staff is non-existent, with very poor customer service that borders on rude.
Rose Butler (25/05/2025, 18:05):
This place is a real gem. The makeup team is always on hand and ready to assist, while the checkout staff are wonderfully friendly. There's a fantastic range of products to choose from, and I even picked up some lovely soap. 😅
James Miller (25/05/2025, 12:36):
My daughter and I popped into the store to find some adorable baby outfits, but the clothing section was pretty sparse. The lovely lady at the register went the extra mile to show us their latest arrivals and even filled us in on why the selection was a bit limited - they were in the process of restocking for the fall season. Great customer service!
Elizabeth Campbell (23/05/2025, 14:29):
Lovely store with a welcoming atmosphere and knowledgeable staff. Convenient pharmacy inside for prescriptions and guidance.
Mia Hernandez (22/05/2025, 06:28):
The lovely ladies at the store were so helpful, they made my shopping experience as smooth as can be.
Riley Foster (21/05/2025, 07:54):
Lovely shop layout with a great selection of products.
All the checkouts are self-service now, but they're simple to use.
Terry Scott (20/05/2025, 18:14):
The experience I had was quite dreadful. I was instructed to pick up my prescription, but upon arrival, I was informed that there was no actual prescription ready for me; that it was a substitute and I would have to wait an additional 5 days. The pharmacist advised me to "use the one you got" (even though it was for a different issue). Additionally, she suggested that if I was dissatisfied with the service, I should seek out another pharmacy, despite my disability and lack of transportation, as this pharmacy is my local Boots.

To make matters worse, at 4 pm, she informed customers that they were closing for lunch (?) and displayed a notice to that effect. After close to three hours of waiting and pleading with this unpleasant woman, I finally received the much-needed medication I had been instructed to collect. It truly was a nightmare.

Regrettably, there are occasions when truly wonderful individuals are present there - but those moments are few and far between.
Anthony Morales (20/05/2025, 03:30):
Great drugstore but a tad expensive. It's no surprise they offer loyalty points on their card, you end up paying for it.
