Accessibility Features

The hospital prides itself on being wheelchair-accessible with an entrance and a dedicated wheelchair-accessible toilet. Additionally, there are other amenities such as clean restrooms that cater to all visitors. The focus on accessibility demonstrates the hospital's commitment to inclusivity, making it a suitable option for everyone in the community, including those with disabilities.

Client Experiences

Positive experiences often mention the compassionate handling of pets, such as one instance where a vet took the time to comfort a distressed dog with a warm blanket during a medical scare. However, not all feedback has been glowing. Multiple reviews point out concerns regarding costs and transparency. Complaints about sudden price increases after initial consultations have caused frustration among pet owners, leading some to feel unsure about the vet's motivations. For example, one client expressed dissatisfaction when their dog underwent surgery, only to find out that the costs had unexpectedly doubled.

Final Thoughts

Overall, while Braid Vets Hospital showcases strong accessibility features and a caring staff, it's essential for prospective clients to weigh both the positive and negative reviews regarding service and pricing. Ensuring you have a clear understanding of potential costs and communicating any concerns directly with the staff is advisable when considering veterinary care for your pets. Whether you’re seeking emergency treatment or routine check-ups, Braid Vets offers a comprehensive service, but be sure to plan ahead to navigate the Veterinary landscape effectively.

I've been taking my pooch to Braid Vets for a good 8 years now, and I must say, I've always felt incredibly well taken care of. My furry friend has some ongoing health issues that need careful monitoring, and the routine check-ups laid out in her treatment plan offer a great deal of comfort. I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving her in anyone else's hands - these folks are top-notch!
Evelyn Jones (02/07/2025, 05:47):
The veterinarian was absolutely fantastic, I'd give her 5 stars! However, the reception staff and customer service left a bit to be desired.
Rachel Thomas (02/07/2025, 02:52):
We are absolutely thrilled with the top-notch service we receive from Braid Vets Leith for our 13-year-old Jacky. The staff there are all incredibly lovely and always ready to assist whenever we need it.
Bryan Perez (01/07/2025, 13:03):
The most delightful individuals, incredibly patient and warm towards our pup. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Absolutely splendid team of staff at Braids Vets. We've been entrusting them with the care of our pets for several years now and have consistently encountered a level of compassion and friendliness that is truly top-notch. Highly recommend their services!

I've only had positive experiences with Braid Vets. My senior cat requires special attention, and the team has always been incredibly accommodating, especially when I've needed a last-minute appointment. They always opt for a more conservative approach when she has health issues, and I've never felt compelled to choose a pricier solution. I'm thankful to the staff for all their assistance.

I wish to express my immense gratitude to the veterinary nurse Cheryl. She is truly outstanding in her role, displaying exceptional warmth and kindness towards all under her care. Cheryl consistently goes above and beyond her duties to provide assistance.

During a period of profound grief following the passing of my dog, I found myself inconsolable and severely unwell. Cheryl regularly engaged with me over the phone and emphasized the importance of welcoming another canine companion into my life to aid in my healing process. Going the extra mile, she took it upon herself to locate a cockapoo puppy for me, reaching out to the owner and providing a stellar recommendation that ultimately secured my acquisition of my beloved pup. Without Cheryl's intervention, I would not have the joy of having my cherished Billie by my side today. I will forever remain indebted to her incredible act of kindness and support. ❤️

Last year, my treasured 12-year-old boxer boy suddenly fell seriously ill on a Sunday morning... it became evident that he was nearing the end of his life. My intention had always been to have him euthanized at home, just like I had done with my previous boxers; however, this situation was unexpected. Since it was a Sunday, my usual vet was unable to make a home visit. I reached out to the Braids Vet and, albeit reluctantly, had to bring Archie in... not what we had envisioned. Yet... I cannot commend the staff enough. Both my husband and I were devastated at the thought of losing Archie... but the staff graciously allowed us to have half an hour alone with our boy... then guided us through every step... we cradled him as he peacefully passed away... in the most dignified and respectful manner... I could feel that even the staff were deeply touched. Afterwards, we were given another 20 minutes in private to hold Archie and bid him farewell. We were visibly upset, and the staff were considerate enough not to mention euthanasia fees... instead, we were given the time to compose ourselves and handle the fees the next day. For that, I am profoundly grateful... very compassionate staff who displayed discretion in such circumstances.

A visit to the emergency vet can be quite stressful, but the team at Braid Vets were incredibly compassionate and supportive. I was very pleased with the level of care my pet received last month. Thank you so much.
Sandra Rivera (24/06/2025, 22:34):
A caring and professional veterinary practice. The veterinarians, vet techs, and reception staff are all very knowledgeable, kind, and take excellent care of the animals (and their humans). Our pet was seen by a vet within an hour of calling in with a leg injury on a Saturday, which was quite impressive. I highly recommend them.
Bradley Hamilton (23/06/2025, 07:05):
I've been taking my house rabbits to this veterinary practice for about 8 years now, and I must say Scott Dixon is incredibly knowledgeable and the facilities are top-notch. I highly recommend this vet practice to anyone with fur babies!
Adam Gonzalez (21/06/2025, 15:20):
Extremely friendly, empathetic, and attuned to my expectations and requirements.
A personalized service for both my pet and myself.
Michelle Ross (21/06/2025, 01:22):
Thank you, Kate, for sorting out the delay in the claim. Your assistance has been greatly appreciated.
Martha Howard (20/06/2025, 10:42):
My precious pup Rosie was brought in here at 2am bleeding profusely, as a result of another vet's mistake during her spaying procedure! An emergency operation and blood transfusion were immediately performed, and she was closely monitored for nearly 24 hours. When we finally took her home, she was like a whole new dog. I can't express enough gratitude to the veterinary team for saving my girl. She's not just a pet; she's a cherished member of our family. Forever thankful, cheers!
Victoria Jones (17/06/2025, 21:54):
I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone. I brought my dog here two days before Christmas, only to be informed that he wouldn't survive the night. I requested them to keep my dog comfortable and pain-free, and they provided me with a price. However, I was shocked when they called me at 2 o'clock in the morning asking about my garden as cremation costs were high. Who in their right mind would make such a call at that hour? They also tripled the bill. I decided to take my dog elsewhere, and he was still alive over a week later. I was appalled by their actions - charging £30 for medication and £280 for overnight stay in a cage. I couldn't trust them. In response to their suggestion for me to contact a facility in London, despite knowing about the recent loss of my mum and my critically ill dad, I felt they were not genuinely interested. My advice? Don't bother wasting your time with them, as they showed no compassion when I needed it most.
Evelyn Jackson (10/06/2025, 20:27):
I must say, I am quite pleased with the attention my cat Jaz received during her emergency situation. We are currently being cared for at Village Vets in Longniddry, and E-vets are associated with Braid for emergencies. Even though the pandemic looms, we were met with compassion and kindness, and they did everything possible for her. Sadly, she did not pull through, but the staff took great care of us all. A big thank you is in order.
Cynthia Turner (10/06/2025, 08:21):
I've been attending Braid Vets for quite some time now, and I must say, I am thoroughly pleased with the service provided. The vets there clearly show genuine care and concern for each and every animal that comes through their doors.

The reception staff are also top-notch - extremely helpful, professional, and friendly. I have complete trust in Braid Vets to look after my cat and prioritize her well-being every time she pays a visit, be it for a regular check-up or a specific health issue.

It's a sorrowful memory, but I had to make the difficult decision to have my other cat put to rest two years back (during lockdown). It was a heart-wrenching and distressing time for me, but the vets and staff at Braid Vets were incredibly compassionate and understanding, and I was truly grateful for everything they did.

A big thank you to everyone at Braid Vets for their outstanding care and support.
Debra Gomez (08/06/2025, 16:31):
After waiting 6 days for my package, I reached out to them only to discover that one of the items I had ordered and paid for was not even in stock. So, don't assume your item is available just because you've paid for it. I suggest checking out viovet instead, as they clearly list items that are out of stock.
Bryan Anderson (07/06/2025, 21:58):
I was quite apprehensive when I rushed my Jack Russell Terrier, Daisy, in for an emergency visit, but veterinary nurse Cheryl quickly calmed my nerves. The veterinarian, Lucas, conducted a comprehensive examination of Daisy and handled her with great care. He took the time to explain the treatment plan and offered me some valuable advice on maintaining her well-being moving forward. Both Lucas and Cheryl exemplified kindness and professionalism, and I wholeheartedly endorse their services.
Evelyn Hayes (02/06/2025, 12:23):
Fantastic veterinarians, always so patient with my kitty and they have excellent availability for appointments. I absolutely adore the healthcare plan as it’s a wonderful way to pay monthly for vaccines and flea treatments.
