Welcome to Tesco Express in St Andrews

Nestled in the heart of St Andrews, Tesco Express on Market Street is an essential stop for both locals and visitors. This small yet well-stocked supermarket offers a range of food options, household essentials, and quick grab-and-go snacks, making it perfect for those planning a quick visit.

Amenities and Accessibility

Tesco Express ensures convenience for all shoppers. The store features a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible car park, allowing easy access for everyone. Additionally, it provides a wheelchair-accessible toilet, catering to diverse needs. Those looking to stay longer can enjoy the various on-site services, including recycling bins, enhancing sustainability.

Payment Options

For payments, Tesco Express accommodates various preferences, accepting both credit cards and debit cards. Shoppers can also enjoy NFC mobile payments for a smooth checkout experience.

Service Options and Customer Experience

Customer service at Tesco Express has received mixed feedback. Many appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, with comments highlighting excellent customer service. However, some patrons have expressed concerns about specific employees displaying rudeness. It's essential to recognize that while the store boasts great produce and a solid selection, encounters can vary based on individual staff members.

Product Offerings

The supermarket offers a broad range of offerings, from fresh food items to household necessities. While many enjoy the daily discount section, some customers find prices steep compared to competitors like Sainsbury's. Additionally, there are comments about certain product quality, particularly concerning the freshness of produce.

Shopping Experience

In-store shopping at Tesco Express is generally efficient, thanks to its well-organized layout and self-service tills. However, it can become overcrowded, especially with locals frequenting the store daily. During busy hours, shoppers may encounter long lines, which can detract from the overall experience.

Community Focus

Tesco Express aims to create an inclusive environment. It is recognized as an LGBTQ+ friendly space, and employees foster a welcoming atmosphere. However, several reviews suggest that improving staff training could enhance the overall shopping experience for everyone.

Conclusion

Overall, Tesco Express in St Andrews provides a convenient shopping solution with a variety of food and household products. Whether you’re grabbing a snack or stocking up for the week, this supermarket stands out for its accessibility and essential services. While there are areas for improvement regarding service consistency and product quality, it remains a staple in the community, especially for students and locals alike.

Always done me good, you know. I absolutely adore the daily discount section. However, I must say, gotta dock a star because sometimes those prices are just a bit of a joke, you know what I mean? Regardless, big shoutout to all the lovely retail workers holding it down over there. Stay strong, mates, your job ain't no walk in the park! ❤️

A splendid local shop with a parcel pick-up service for Evri, slightly pricier than a big Tesco but oh-so convenient, I must say.
Thomas Gonzalez (19/07/2025, 02:35):
Fully stocked, fair prices, and a commitment to sustainability have really made a difference in my shopping experience at this supermarket. I highly recommend it!
Madison Murphy (15/07/2025, 20:21):
A quite sizable supermarket in the heart of the city, with handy self-service checkouts, offering all the essentials for students and even catering to tourists as well.
Jonathan Gutierrez (13/07/2025, 19:22):
Great selection and prices at this little market. We stocked up on breakfast essentials and snacks. The self-checkout scanner was a tad slow but handy. Plus, the store was just a block from our VRBO, so it was super convenient.
Anna Alexander (13/07/2025, 12:49):
Excuse me, but could you kindly point me in the direction of the beans?

Absolutely, mate! Thanks a bunch for that. Cheers!

It caters well to the local student community.

Impressive selection. The produce is top-notch and reasonably priced. Love the option to self-checkout with the machines. Cheers!

It's got a proper mix of goods and top-notch quality. The staff are dead friendly when they're serving you, mate.
Austin Morris (10/07/2025, 08:17):
The managers were quite rude and the staff had a rather unpleasant experience.

They 'ave all ya need, but the quality of the meat and produce ain't up to scratch. Got meself some garlic 'ere that turned bad in less than a week (proper rotten). Not a good sign at all, if ya ask me.
Patrick Nguyen (08/07/2025, 16:57):
Tesco is absolutely smashing, mate!
Christine Williams (08/07/2025, 14:52):
It's all good, I would definitely recommend it. Cheers!
Jordan White (07/07/2025, 10:20):
Just as you might anticipate from a Tesco grocery store, but with slightly fewer options.
Barbara Hamilton (05/07/2025, 06:23):
£1.70 for a Fanta? Blimey, that seems a bit steep, doesn't it? I mean, I love me some Fanta, but I reckon that's a tad pricey for a fizzy drink, ain't it? I'd expect to pay a bit less for a bevvy like that down at the market, if you catch my drift.
Janice Wilson (01/07/2025, 19:44):
It's quite remarkable how they cram so much into such a wee supermarket.

The Asian selection is truly massive – far larger than what you'd find in a big Morrisons or Sainsbury's. And though I'm not American, I was impressed by the vast array of American products as well. It's clear they make an effort to cater to the international student community here in St Andrews.

Prices are on par with other establishments, not any pricier than what you'd find online or at a typical Tesco across the UK, despite what some folks may claim.
Kimberly Rivera (29/06/2025, 23:44):
Absolutely smashing, I must say. The content on Supermarket is top-notch, couldn't be more pleased. Cheers!
Christina Patterson (28/06/2025, 12:41):
I must confess, I often find meself gravitating back to this place, day in and day out, for one reason or another!😂 Superbly arranged and offers quite the bargain on grub, but their veggies can be hit or miss in the taste department. Now, when it comes to loo roll and tissues, they're a pretty penny here for some reason, a mystery to me indeed. Your best bet may just be to order them off of Amazon and save a pretty penny, if ya ask me. Cheers!
