We both ventured into the facilities, and the odor of urine permeated the air, coupled with an abundance of discarded paper strewn across the floor. It was evident that the restrooms had not been cleaned in quite some time, despite the recent opening of the supermarket.

I popped into this supermarket for breakfast with my hubby, and it was a bit grim, I must say. The cups were all stained with coffee or tea drips, and the tables were cluttered with trays and plates that hadn't been cleared. We usually adore having breakfast at Morrisons because it's top-notch and incredibly clean. So, the experience at the Fort William branch left us feeling quite let down.

This quaint little café is an absolute gem, located conveniently near the bus station. I popped in on a Sunday around 1pm and was slightly disappointed to find a restricted selection of sandwiches. Despite being enticed by a striking poster showcasing fish and chips, I was disheartened to learn that they were out of fish. Moreover, the absence of vegetarian burger options and notices detailing tomato shortages left much to be desired. The lack of trays for customer use was a minor inconvenience. While I appreciated the tea being served in a charming metal teapot, the oversized mugs made the entire pot fit comfortably with plenty of room to spare. Perhaps reconsidering the use of teapots would be beneficial in the future.

Featuring a deli counter, café, restrooms, fresh produce, and a bottle bank, it's conveniently located near the town center, right next to the train and bus stations. Additionally, there's a petrol station on site. While parking is free, do keep an eye on the time limits.

I must say, the service at this Supermarket leaves much to be desired. It seems they are always short on open checkout lanes, leaving customers no choice but to use the self-service machines, which can be quite chaotic. The staff manning these machines are often multitasking, trying to stock shelves while assisting customers at the same time. This results in delays and frustration when the machine requires attention. It would be greatly appreciated if the management could ensure there are manned checkout lanes available at all times.

So I popped into Morrisons for a spot of breakfast, all geared up for their famed "Ultimate" Scottish Breakfast. To my surprise, I was informed that mushrooms were off the menu that day, despite the store being well-stocked with them. I asked if I could have fried eggs instead of poached or scrambled, only to be met with a firm "no, we can't do that." I mean, who ever heard of a breakfast joint not serving fried eggs, right? And when I inquired about a discount for the lack of mushrooms, you can probably guess the answer - another resounding "no." What kind of supermarket cafe is this, I ask you? It's a bit of a head-scratcher when they have mushrooms but won't serve them, offer only certain types of eggs, and to top it off, the lady at the checkout was rather rude.

I must say, I was rather disappointed with the quality of the breakfast offered at this establishment. Not only did it take an exceedingly long time for my meal to arrive, but when it did, it was clear that minimal effort had been put into its preparation. Regrettably, I was only able to consume a small portion of it before deciding to forego the rest. Without a doubt, this was the most unsatisfactory breakfast experience I have ever encountered.

Absolutely dreadful, I shan't be returning. The gentleman at the till didn't utter a single word during the entire transaction. Not a greeting, no politeness with pleases and thank yous, nor an indication of the amount due. I was left to fathom it out myself and rely on the machine for confirmation. The most abysmal supermarket encounter I've ever endured. If I had the opportunity, I would rate it zero stars without hesitation.

The biggest supermarket in Fort William, no doubt about that. Nevertheless, I must say the shelves, especially in the fruit section, were quite bare during the 2 days I popped in while on holiday. They do offer petrol at more affordable prices compared to Esso and BP, which is always a bonus.

So, Morrisons has decided to follow in Tesco's footsteps and launch their own customer loyalty program called the 'More Card'. I've been a loyal customer of their supermarket for two decades, but I will be switching to Aldi now. I am not comfortable with the idea of my shopping data being collected and sold, which is why I also stopped shopping at Tesco. I understand that customer data is highly valuable to supermarkets, and they often incentivize shoppers to join these programs with exclusive discounts. However, I prefer to take my business elsewhere, spending around £100 per week. The significant price increases in recent years, since the supermarket was acquired by a US investment firm focused on maximizing profits, have also played a role in my decision. Goodbye.

This here review is for the café, not the actual store.

The folks working there are right pleasant, but having wild birds flapping about in the café ain't the best for cleanliness, now, is it? Seems like they've been around for a bit too, from what I've read in past reviews. Give me a cardboard box, a twig, and a piece of string, and even I could nab 'em. Sort it out, Morrisons, if you please. Cheers! 🤣
