Exploring Rowlands Pharmacy on Gilbertfield Street, Glasgow

Rowlands Pharmacy located on Gilbertfield Street in Glasgow is a well-known establishment providing various on-site services to the community. However, recent reviews highlight a mix of experiences that raise questions about its accessibility and customer service.

Accessibility Features

One notable feature of Rowlands Pharmacy is its wheelchair-accessible entrance. This ensures that all customers, regardless of mobility challenges, can access the pharmacy with ease. However, feedback suggests that once inside, the experience can vary significantly.

Payment Options

Rowlands Pharmacy offers multiple payment options, including debit cards, credit cards, and NFC mobile payments. This flexibility allows customers to choose how they wish to settle their transactions, whether for prescriptions or other products.

Customer Service Challenges

Despite the accessible features and convenient payment methods, several customers have reported unsatisfactory interactions. Many have described staff as being rude and unhelpful. Comments indicate that even when patients arrive just before closing, they may be treated with indifference. One customer's struggle to pick up a prescription just moments before closing time resulted in a confrontational exchange, leaving them feeling disrespected.

In-Store Experience

While some customers praise the friendly demeanor of certain staff members, others express frustration over the lack of attention and care received during their visits. Instances of waiting without acknowledgment while staff engage in conversation have led to claims of poor service. Customers have noted the need for improved responsiveness and respect towards those seeking assistance.

Delivery and In-Store Pick-Up Services

Rowlands Pharmacy does offer delivery and in-store pick-up services, but the inconsistency in service quality has created doubt among patrons about relying on these options. The importance of receiving medications, especially at critical times, has been emphasized by those who felt let down by the pharmacy's performance.

A Call for Improvement

As a community pharmacy, Rowlands on Gilbertfield Street holds a vital role in supporting local health needs. To enhance the overall experience, there is a pressing need for management to address staff training and ensure all customers receive the attentiveness they deserve. Improvement in service quality will not only foster customer loyalty but also reinforce the pharmacy's reputation within the Glasgow community.

Conclusion

While Rowlands Pharmacy on Gilbertfield Street offers essential services and accessibility options, the recurring issues with customer service cannot be overlooked. By focusing on training and staff responsiveness, there is potential for the pharmacy to transform its reputation and better serve the residents of Glasgow.

Rachel Phillips (06/06/2025, 13:52):
The staff is brilliant, but the only pharmacist who really knows her stuff is Ruth. The other fill-ins are clueless and even turn off the phone. The team has been short-staffed, and they seem to bear the brunt of customers' dissatisfaction because of the pharmacist on duty that day.

I bloody hate having to pop into this place, but it's right round the corner so I just have to put up with it. The folks in there are dead rude and can't be arsed to help you out. Barely even give you the time of day. I had to swing by after work to pick up my prescription in a rush before they shut for the day. Got there about three minutes before closing time, and she just glared at me, checked the clock, and finally handed over my meds like it was such a hassle. Yeah, I get it was annoying showing up last minute, but I couldn't have made it any earlier, believe me I tried. And I needed those meds for the next day, so it was proper important. You can reckon it's a pain, fair enough, but no need to be so snotty about it.

Also went in with an earache last week, and they basically just palmed me off, telling me to go see the doc instead. Useless. I was following NHS guidelines by going there first to ease the pressure on GP practices. Even my 5-year-old piped up, saying "they always tell you to come back tomorrow, come back tomorrow" when I was telling the old man about how rude they were. The staff here seriously need to up their game.
