LloydsPharmacy in Edinburgh: An Overview

LloydsPharmacy, located in the heart of Edinburgh, serves as a crucial health resource for the local community. However, its accessibility and service options have garnered mixed reviews from customers.

Accessibility Options

For individuals with mobility challenges, LloydsPharmacy offers a wheelchair-accessible entrance, ensuring ease of access. Yet, despite these physical accommodations, customer experiences highlight significant issues with in-store shopping.

Delivery and In-Store Pick-Up Services

Many patrons rely on delivery services or in-store pick-up for their prescriptions. Some users appreciate the staff's willingness to deliver items directly to vehicles for disabled customers. This flexibility is essential in promoting inclusivity; however, the efficiency of these services has been called into question due to long wait times and stock availability.

NFC Mobile Payments and Credit Card Options

LloydsPharmacy provides modern payment solutions, including NFC mobile payments, credit cards, and debit cards. These options cater to diverse customer preferences, yet the overall transaction experience can be hindered by poor in-store service.

LGBTQ+ Friendly Environment

Creating a transgender safe space and being LGBTQ+ friendly are crucial aspects for many consumers. While some employees reportedly foster an inclusive atmosphere, the negative experiences shared by numerous visitors suggest a need for improvement in this area.

Customer Service Challenges

Despite having a potentially welcoming environment, the pharmacy’s reputation for customer service is alarmingly poor. Reviews describe rude and unprofessional behavior from staff, alongside excessive wait times and mismanagement of prescriptions. Customers report feeling frustrated and neglected, leading to calls for others to "avoid them" or seek alternatives.

Conclusion

LloydsPharmacy in Edinburgh has the potential to be a reliable healthcare provider with accessible services for all. However, significant shortcomings in customer service and prescription management underscore the urgent need for improvements. As the community continues to rely on this establishment, addressing these concerns will be vital for restoring trust and ensuring that all individuals receive the care they deserve.

Terrible, sluggish service with no one else around, painfully long waits for prescriptions.
Kathryn Jenkins (27/07/2025, 11:00):
I must say, the service at this Pharmacy is absolutely dreadful.
Judith Ramirez (23/07/2025, 20:29):
I just can't wrap my head around why this pharmacy even bothers having a phone number. I've been a resident of Gilmerton for nearly 2 years now, and I have attempted to contact this establishment a whopping 48 times, with absolutely zero success in getting through to them. Every single time I dial, it rings and rings, only for the line to mysteriously go busy? What kind of operation are they running over there? It's beyond me.
Bradley Thomas (20/07/2025, 16:48):
This is the absolute worst customer service experience I've ever had. The staff were atrocious, incredibly rude and completely unprofessional. I sincerely hope they are let go from their positions.
Richard Gutierrez (17/07/2025, 17:14):
This drugstore is a proper disaster, mate.

They don't bother checking your medication properly. I ordered insulin 10 days back, and they claimed to have run out of it today. When I tried to get it as an emergency, they told me to come back at 4pm. I wasn't having none of that, so I called the hospital for a backup. Lo and behold, at 4:30 they miraculously had insulin available - but get this, it was made up a week ago!

Avoid 'em like the plague, they couldn't care less about your health. They've even got a sign up saying antibiotics are only available on certain days, yet surprise surprise, when you pop in, they're out of stock on those too!

This pharmacy is run by a bunch of loony toons!

Find yourself a better place, this one should be shut down for their incompetence. They can't run things properly and use understaffing as an excuse...
Matthew Kim (15/07/2025, 17:50):
I just love the Scottish Highlands for their sense of community, camaraderie, and how everyone pulls together. Today, Karen really exemplified these qualities when she went above and beyond to sort out my prescription. It was a great reminder of the power of teamwork and taking initiative! Cheers!
Austin Carter (11/07/2025, 05:52):
Mate, let me tell you about my recent experience with the pharmacy. They only went and lost my prescription! I had to pop down to the surgery to get a new one sorted out. They claimed they had already sent it up and even had my name on the list of prescriptions sent up. But then I had to sit around twiddling my thumbs for another 20 minutes while they put it together. Absolute rubbish service, if you ask me.
Alice Walker (10/07/2025, 13:36):
Terrible customer service, the attitude was absolutely dreadful and it seems like I'm not the only one in my family who has experienced this kind of treatment.
Kelly Nelson (08/07/2025, 10:44):
This is a shame, mate. The website says they open at 08:30, but that wasn't the case. The sign on the door says they don't open until 09:00.
Matthew Collins (08/07/2025, 08:43):
In my experience, they always seem to have all the prescription drugs I've needed in stock. The staff is quite pleasant as well.
Brenda Allen (08/07/2025, 01:11):
This pharmacy is absolutely dreadful, I've been a resident in this area for 28 years and it desperately needs to be shut down. The lack of professionalism is shocking, they never take responsibility for anything and always blame the doctor's office. I've been attempting to call them for the last 2 hours, and when they finally picked up, they just hang up immediately. It's incredibly frustrating.
Thomas Sullivan (06/07/2025, 10:54):
The staff at this pharmacy were extremely unhelpful and impolite. It happens to be the closest one to my workplace, so when I attempted to refill a prescription, they advised me to visit a pharmacy closer to my residence. I have a daily commute of over an hour each way, and by the time I return home, my local pharmacy is already closed. Their behavior was completely unacceptable, and their suggestion was nonsensical.
Samantha Hughes (04/07/2025, 15:47):
I have been trying to contact the pharmacy about my prescription, but every time I attempt to call, the line is busy or it simply rings out. I was instructed to visit at 4 p.m. on Friday only to discover that it was closed.
Jeremy Reed (01/07/2025, 19:53):
I had a right long wait for me prescription, and when I finally got to the counter, they couldn't find it anywhere. Proper frustrating, I tell you!
Christine Reyes (29/06/2025, 06:39):
Fast service and fantastic range of products and personal care items
Rachel Taylor (29/06/2025, 03:37):
Twice now, my daughter has tried to submit a prescription online for her medication, only to find that the website was showing as open but closed. She's pregnant and urgently needs this medication. The incompetence of their customer service is beyond belief! I attempted to call, but there was no answer. It's unacceptable and those responsible should be let go immediately.
Dennis Reyes (28/06/2025, 22:22):
Utterly pointless. Waited 11 days to receive a prescription due to some supposed "system upgrades," and no one answered the phone (tried multiple days and times). Had to actually visit the location just to be informed of this waste of time. Save yourself the trouble and seek services elsewhere if your GP nearby offers to send your prescription.
John Gomez (27/06/2025, 09:41):
Just popped down to the local pharmacy.
Rachel Cruz (21/06/2025, 13:59):
The customer service at this Pharmacy is top-notch, I must say. They really go above and beyond to cater to their customers' needs. As a disabled driver, I appreciate that they are willing to accommodate me by allowing me to call from my car and wait for them to hand-deliver my repeat prescription items. The staff is always friendly and efficient, making sure to check all the necessary details before handing over the medication. And in cases where I need my medication urgently, they really step up to help out as much as they can. Overall, I am very impressed with the level of service provided by this pharmacy.
Gloria Foster (19/06/2025, 02:17):
This here pharmacy blog sure has a good chemistry to it.
