LloydsPharmacy in Edinburgh: An Overview

LloydsPharmacy, located in the heart of Edinburgh, serves as a crucial health resource for the local community. However, its accessibility and service options have garnered mixed reviews from customers.

Accessibility Options

For individuals with mobility challenges, LloydsPharmacy offers a wheelchair-accessible entrance, ensuring ease of access. Yet, despite these physical accommodations, customer experiences highlight significant issues with in-store shopping.

Delivery and In-Store Pick-Up Services

Many patrons rely on delivery services or in-store pick-up for their prescriptions. Some users appreciate the staff's willingness to deliver items directly to vehicles for disabled customers. This flexibility is essential in promoting inclusivity; however, the efficiency of these services has been called into question due to long wait times and stock availability.

NFC Mobile Payments and Credit Card Options

LloydsPharmacy provides modern payment solutions, including NFC mobile payments, credit cards, and debit cards. These options cater to diverse customer preferences, yet the overall transaction experience can be hindered by poor in-store service.

LGBTQ+ Friendly Environment

Creating a transgender safe space and being LGBTQ+ friendly are crucial aspects for many consumers. While some employees reportedly foster an inclusive atmosphere, the negative experiences shared by numerous visitors suggest a need for improvement in this area.

Customer Service Challenges

Despite having a potentially welcoming environment, the pharmacy’s reputation for customer service is alarmingly poor. Reviews describe rude and unprofessional behavior from staff, alongside excessive wait times and mismanagement of prescriptions. Customers report feeling frustrated and neglected, leading to calls for others to "avoid them" or seek alternatives.

Conclusion

LloydsPharmacy in Edinburgh has the potential to be a reliable healthcare provider with accessible services for all. However, significant shortcomings in customer service and prescription management underscore the urgent need for improvements. As the community continues to rely on this establishment, addressing these concerns will be vital for restoring trust and ensuring that all individuals receive the care they deserve.

Dreadful experience at the pharmacy recently. Firstly, I was questioned about a cancellation email, which I hadn't received. Then, I had to linger in the cramped store. A customer entered with a cough that sounded like covid, and they weren't properly wearing their mask. It was quite alarming.

Not the best pharmacy experience, to be fair. Seems like the only reason folks end up there is 'cause there ain't much of a choice if you don't have wheels. 🙃 Scripts tend to go missing, and you're left twiddling your thumbs for a good week or even more 'fore you can pick 'em up...

It takes bloody ages for your prescription to be ready, mate.

Outstanding, hospitable, and amiable staff

If y'can go elsewhere, I suggest doin' so. Spent over 50 minutes waitin' on me order. I stepped out fer a bit and when I returned, I was left standin' at the counter ignored for a good 10 minutes. Had the dodgiest security guard lurkin' around me. If it were up t'me, I'd choose another spot, but bein' the only nearby pharmacy, reckon they ain't bothered. Here's hopin' that Lidl will open a chemist shop soon!
Steven Richardson (05/06/2025, 12:32):
One hour for 2 inhalers, what a joke!
Carl Bailey (05/06/2025, 08:43):
Twice now, the Pharmacy has messed up my prescription order. I'm eagerly awaiting a call from head office to address this issue. The staff have been quite impolite.
Roger Murphy (05/06/2025, 04:04):
I had an extremely disappointing experience recently at a pharmacy. I had to wait for 7 working days to get my medicine due to the chemists being closed for a holiday or Bank Holiday of the king's Coronation. I waited a long time outside the pharmacy to be let in and didn't even receive an apology. The customer service was absolutely terrible, rude, and unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and choose another reputable pharmacy for your prescriptions!
