Lindsay & Gilmour Pharmacy Dalkeith: A Review of Services and Accessibility

Lindsay & Gilmour Pharmacy, located in Dalkeith, has established itself as a local pharmacy offering a variety of services. While many customers appreciate the friendly staff and overall accessibility, others have noted significant issues with service speed and organization.

Payment Options for Customers

At Lindsay & Gilmour Pharmacy, customers can choose from various payment options, including credit cards and debit cards. The pharmacy also supports NFC mobile payments, ensuring a seamless checkout process for modern consumers. However, it’s important to note that long queues can hinder a swift payment experience.

Service Options Available

The pharmacy prides itself on providing necessary medications and healthcare products. Despite its wide range of offerings, many customers report having to wait excessively to pick up prescriptions. Some individuals have experienced waits of over an hour, with requests for essential items often going unresolved. Although the pharmacy has been recognized for its helpful staff, the repeated issues with service indicate a need for improved organization and management.

Accessibility Features

Lindsay & Gilmour Pharmacy aims to cater to all customers by providing a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible car park. This commitment to accessibility is crucial for those with mobility challenges, allowing them to visit the pharmacy without undue stress.

Delivery Services

Currently, there is mention of delivery services, yet the effectiveness of these services has come into question. Many customers express frustration with delayed prescriptions, leading to concerns about accessibility when urgent medications are required. Having clear communication and reliable delivery options would enhance the overall customer experience.

Customer Feedback: Mixed Reviews

Despite the pharmacy’s positive attributes, the feedback from customers has been mixed. With several reviews pointing out the staff's efforts to assist, many customers highlight ongoing challenges: - Long wait times often associated with a short-staffing issue. - Instances of lost prescriptions leading to further delays. - Poor communication regarding medication availability. On the other hand, some patrons appreciate the attentive service from staff when addressing issues or clarifications. It’s clear that while there has been progress, there remains room for improvement.

Conclusion

Lindsay & Gilmour Pharmacy in Dalkeith offers essential services and convenience but grapples with operational challenges that detract from the overall customer experience. By addressing staffing issues and enhancing organizational practices, this pharmacy could significantly improve its service quality and customer satisfaction ratings.

Donald Gonzalez (06/06/2025, 00:25):
I reckon most folks don't quite grasp the inner workings of a pharmacy. I gotta say, I was rather let down by an incident that occurred about 2 months back. This lady at the counter took my prescription and told me it would be ready in an hour. I was fine with that, but then she changed it to coming back after 2 pm, which added an extra 3 hours. I agreed, only to have her tell me it wouldn't be ready until the following afternoon – it seemed like she just didn't want to help me out.

I popped in last Saturday, the 17th of September, at around 4 pm, and the place was absolutely buzzing with activity. Customers were grumbling about how chaotic it was, calling it a useless spot. But the thing is, it's bustling because it's the only place around that handles prescriptions, walk-ins, and actually gets them done. The staff were on their feet working hard, not standing around for a chinwag. I won't even get started on the fact that it was the only pharmacy open on Monday, the 19th of September.

So, I implore folks – instead of giving grief to the hard-working staff dealing with delays, show them some support. They're likely dealing with an extra 200 customers who couldn't get served elsewhere.

Lovely pharmacy, top-notch service!
Scott Rodriguez (04/06/2025, 00:05):
I must say, the service provided here is top-notch.
Riley Taylor (02/06/2025, 23:35):
I must say, the service was absolutely dreadful. I found myself waiting in a queue for a good 20 minutes in the morning, only to have to leave and return to work without my prescription. Later on, I had to endure another 20-25 minute wait in the evening, just to be informed that they were understaffed and couldn't fill my prescription. The suggestion to try another pharmacy was made. It's truly unacceptable to operate in such a manner. It seems like this pharmacy could do with some new management, based on what I witnessed.
Dennis Simmons (02/06/2025, 16:31):
The staff was very pleasant and helpful.
After experiencing a period of poor service, they have managed to turn things around and are now providing excellent and helpful service once again.
Gabriel Young (01/06/2025, 02:38):
The staff at this pharmacy are simply marvelous - so friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Truly top-notch service!
Gary Bennett (30/05/2025, 00:21):
I must say, this establishment is quite the joke. The wait time consistently exceeds 40 minutes, with the same tired excuse of being short-staffed, even though I can clearly count at least 6 employees on duty. It truly makes one wonder how they define "short-staffed" here. 🤔
Danielle Russell (28/05/2025, 01:43):
Initially, I wasn't too thrilled about switching to this pharmacy, but after a few months, we've developed a much better rapport with the staff, and they do seem to assist us when needed. I've come across quite a few negative reviews, but I can only speak to our own experience, and we didn't have any prior acquaintance with the staff. We're pleased to continue utilizing this pharmacy :-)
Ella Cox (25/05/2025, 09:20):
The services at this pharmacy are absolutely dreadful, I must say without any hesitation: this is the most abysmal pharmacy in all of Edinburgh! My experiences have been truly terrible, the staff members are inept, lethargic, and unresponsive.
Jesse Price (23/05/2025, 19:24):
The staff at this pharmacy are not only friendly but also incredibly helpful and always polite.
Dorothy Phillips (22/05/2025, 05:06):
Lovely pharmacy you've got here.
Angela Nguyen (22/05/2025, 03:41):
This service is absolutely dreadful. Each time I visit to collect a prescription for an elderly family member (who is housebound) sent by the doctors, I hand it in and allow a two-week buffer before actually going to the pharmacy. However, every time I go back, it's the same story: not ready, not checked, told to call back the next day. This week alone, I've made four separate trips there, only to find queues out the door each time. After waiting 30 minutes, I'm told it's still not prepared. It's truly unbelievable. The lack of organization, understaffing, and clear lack of priority are apparent.
