Asda Tranent Supermarket: Your Local Shopping Destination

At the heart of Tranent, Asda Tranent Supermarket stands as a convenient hub for daily essentials and more. While it may not be as expansive as larger counterparts in Edinburgh, it offers great produce and competitive prices for locals seeking quality food.

Accessibility and Parking

One of the highlights of Asda Tranent is its wheelchair-accessible entrance and designated wheelchair-accessible car park. Parking is available at no extra cost, with a free parking lot that accommodates shoppers with ease. However, some customers have noted that car parking spaces can be quite small, making maneuvering a challenge, especially during busy hours.

Shopping Experience

The store provides various service options, including no-contact delivery and in-store pick-up, catering to different shopping preferences. Many appreciate the availability of debit cards, credit cards, and NFC mobile payments for quick transactions. Despite its compact size, Asda Tranent boasts a decent variety of offerings, although some shoppers have expressed disappointment regarding the limited selection compared to bigger stores.

Customer Feedback and Challenges

Visitors often comment on the cleanliness of the store and the friendly staff who are generally eager to help. However, feedback indicates that the store can feel cramped, particularly during peak hours. The aisles are described as narrow, which makes shopping a bit challenging. Self-service checkouts are available, but complaints about long queues and inadequate staff assistance have been common, leading to frustration among customers. One customer remarked on their disappointment with a specific incident regarding lottery ticket sales, highlighting a lack of clarity around store policies. Such experiences indicate that while the staff strive to maintain good service, training could be enhanced for improved customer interactions.

Products and Fresh Produce

Despite some concerns regarding stock levels and product availability, many shoppers praise the fresh produce on offer. Regular updates to shelves are made, although they may not always keep pace with demand, particularly during busy times. Additionally, the supermarket engages in recycling initiatives, including battery recycling, which many customers appreciate.

Conclusion

Asda Tranent Supermarket remains a vital resource for the local community, providing essential grocery items and quick visit capabilities for busy shoppers. While there are areas for improvement, particularly in staffing at checkout points and overall product range, the store continues to meet the basic needs of its customers effectively. For those living in Tranent or just passing through, it’s a reliable spot for a quick grocery run, complemented by the convenience of nearby fuel services.

Once again, only 2 people manning the tills at your Tranent store and queues stretching 10-15 customers deep. What's the use of having 2 manned tills that are always closed? Where's the support from the team?

The supermarket Asda has a long history of shelves frequently being poorly stocked, which can be quite frustrating for customers. It seems that the store is no longer considered good value for money. On a positive note, the staff members are always very pleasant and helpful.

The food is decent, but it's quite frustrating that no matter how many times I request an extra dry cappuccino without any chocolate on top, I always end up with a wet drink topped with chocolate. I've tried to explain the process, but it seems like they need more training. It's disappointing because I never get to enjoy my coffee there and end up going elsewhere to buy a new one.

This little shop has super tiny parking spots in its minuscule car park. You can only fit if you've got a small car and are supermodel skinny. The disabled spots are a bit wider, but it's all uphill from your car to the store.

I say, I recently found meself in a bit of a pickle when me own dear old grandmother got herself all flustered over the way a certain staff member had been speaking to her at the local supermarket. The poor thing can't seem to get the hang of those confounded self-service contraptions, and to make matters worse, there never seems to be enough folks manning the tills. And if that weren't enough, they don't seem to stock half the things she's after, so we're often forced to traipse off elsewhere in search of 'em. Quite the bother, I must say!

This supermarket has managed to pack a wide array of products into a rather compact floor area. It's conveniently situated with plenty of parking space and is conveniently located next to a petrol station offering competitive prices in the vicinity. The prices are excellent and in line with what one would anticipate from a top brand such as Asda. We encountered no long lines, and there were numerous approachable and helpful staff members on hand as well.
Jerry Henderson (18/04/2025, 07:26):
Top-notch chip and pin jet wash, mate! Just steer clear of the brush to avoid any pesky scratches on your motor. Cheers!
Elizabeth Ford (18/04/2025, 07:24):
I don't frequent Asda Tranent very often as more often than not they don't have the items I'm looking for, and frequently their shelves are quite bare. I understand that this location is smaller than the larger Asda stores, but it's frustrating when you're in need of something urgently only to find out that it's out of stock here 9 times out of 10.
Louis Ramos (16/04/2025, 21:37):
This wee gem is the perfect spot to grab all your daily essentials from the supermarket!
Brittany Myers (15/04/2025, 20:30):
Not as massive as those gigantic Asda stores in Edinburgh, but I must say the staff here are absolutely lovely. The prices are quite competitive, and the store is always spotless. The fresh produce never fails to catch my eye—it always looks top-notch!
