I recently purchased the most dreadful loaf from the bakery section at the supermarket - a 400g white farmhouse bread that was riddled with holes and practically disintegrated when I tried to slice it with a sharp bread knife. And as if that wasn't bad enough, the egg custards were undercooked and far from being properly set. Quite a disappointing shopping experience, I must say.

Just got back from my morning shop for essentials. I must say, the Tesco team did a splendid job organizing customers to sanitize their trolley handles and directing queues at the checkouts. They also did a great job reminding shoppers to respect the designated areas when moving through the aisles. Tesco's delivery service went above and beyond. I wasn't feeling well when the delivery arrived, and the driver couldn't reach me. They came into the house and called out for me after I didn't answer the phone. At 72 years old and housebound, I was asleep! I'm grateful they didn't give up and drive away with the food.

What a dreadful experience today. There were DOZENS of people queuing for the self-checkout and only TWO tills open. Just TWO tills on Easter weekend with not just locals but also tourists/visitors in the store? It's just not on. Even on a regular weekend, this would be unacceptable. This is why I hardly ever shop at Tesco anymore.

Tesco is a bit basic compared to other options out there. The one-way system is decent enough, but it seems like not many people bother to use it or keep their distance. About 90% of the staff don't really seem to care about social distancing. They just zigzag around and don't do much to remind customers to follow the rules. And as for those reviews saying it's clean and tidy, I can't even remember the last time I visited without seeing cardboard left on the floor by the staff stocking shelves. It's far from tidy, which is a real shame considering it's my local store.

This Tesco is massive with plenty of parking space. You can have a jolly good time exploring everything it has to offer. They even have a petrol station to the left of the supermarket. And guess what? There's a cash machine that spits out fivers! How brilliant is that?
