Dickson Chemist, formerly known as Leslie Chemist, is a notable pharmacy located at 222 Main Street in Glasgow. This establishment has garnered mixed reviews from the community, highlighting both exceptional customer service and areas needing improvement. Let's delve into what makes this pharmacy significant for its patrons.

Quick Visits and Efficient Service

Many customers appreciate the quick visit experience at Dickson Chemist. A recent visitor recounted how, after a brief wait at a different branch, they received their child's prescription within just five minutes at this location. The staff member was not only efficient but also offered valuable advice regarding over-the-counter medications, such as Calpol for kids. This kind of attentive service is crucial for parents seeking timely solutions.

Accessibility and Service Options

The pharmacy boasts a wheelchair-accessible entrance, ensuring that all community members can access its services without barriers. Furthermore, Dickson Chemist offers various service options including in-store pick-up and reliable delivery services, catering to customers who may prefer shopping from the comfort of their homes.

Payment Flexibility with NFC Mobile Payments

In today’s digital age, NFC mobile payments are becoming increasingly important. Dickson Chemist accommodates customers by accepting credit cards and offering options for seamless transactions. This flexibility enhances the overall shopping experience, particularly for those in a hurry or managing prescriptions on the go.

Customer Experiences: The Good and the Bad

While many reviews highlight helpful and friendly staff, there are also accounts of poor customer service. For instance, one customer expressed frustrations over long waits for delivery and unresponsive phone lines, suggesting that improvements in customer communication are necessary. Additionally, some patrons have noted instances where staff were more engaged in personal conversations than assisting customers, indicating a need for better employee training and focus.

Addressing Community Needs

Despite mixed reviews, the pharmacy has its advocates, with several customers praising staff members for going above and beyond their expected duties. Compliments about the staff's friendliness and attentiveness point to a strong community connection, emphasizing the importance of local businesses that care about their clientele. However, consistent complaints about stock availability and responsiveness suggest that the management should consider strategic improvements.

Conclusion: A Pharmacy with Potential

In conclusion, Dickson Chemist serves as a vital resource for many in Glasgow. Its strengths lie in quick service, accessible facilities, and a willing staff, yet it faces challenges that could impair customer satisfaction. A staff member declined to assist my mum until she donned a mask, despite her explanation of being exempt and displaying her wee exemption badge. This action contravenes the Equality Act 2010, as business policies do not override this legislation.
John Robinson (18/05/2025, 17:43):
The staff is so helpful and friendly, and the deliveries are always right on time.
Charles Davis (17/05/2025, 04:37):
Does your pharmacy delivery driver fancy himself as a traffic enforcer? He pushed his way into a parking spot I was about to take and then proudly showed off his work badge as if it granted him some sort of authority. Utterly delusional old chap. No need to try and intimidate the neighborhood where you carry out your duties.
