The Central Pharmacy: A Mixed Bag of Service

The Central Pharmacy in Alloa offers a wheelchair-accessible entrance and car park, making it convenient for all visitors. However, the overall experience can vary significantly depending on the staff member you encounter.

Accessibility Concerns

Many customers have noted the accessibility features of the pharmacy, which include a wheelchair-accessible car park. Despite this, some patrons have reported issues with service that could hinder those requiring assistance. For instance, a customer expressed frustration over needing to visit the pharmacy in person to check on prescription status, citing the store's policy against sharing information over the phone.

Service Options and Delivery

While same-day delivery is advertised, some individuals have reported dissatisfaction with the process. Complaints range from prescriptions not being ready as promised to rude interactions with staff members. One customer, who suffers from anxiety and panic attacks, felt threatened when asking about their delivery service. This incident highlights the importance of compassionate service options, especially for vulnerable individuals.

Payment Flexibility

Central Pharmacy accepts various forms of payment, including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments. This flexibility makes transactions more convenient, yet it does not overshadow the service issues that have been persistent in customer feedback.

Overall Impression

Despite the challenges reported, some customers have had positive experiences. Notably, a pharmacist named Sharon was praised for her efforts in sourcing discontinued medications. Such dedicated service stands in contrast to the complaints about other staff members who were perceived as unhelpful or rude.

Conclusion

Central Pharmacy in Alloa provides essential services with necessary accessibility features, but the inconsistency in customer service can detract from the overall experience. For those considering a quick visit, it may be beneficial to explore other pharmacies if you have regular prescription needs, given the mixed reviews. Always plan ahead and ensure you have a backup option for your pharmaceutical needs.

I would suggest trying a different pharmacy if you require routine medication filled. On multiple occasions, I have experienced issues where the correct quantity of tablets was not provided even after waiting for 6 days. Instead, I received an IOU note, despite the pharmacy having filled the prescription for months prior. They typically receive the prescription in the morning, but it is not filled into the system until after 4:30 PM, whether it is convenient for the customer or not. It is completely disorganized, and the manager will try to defend the service by claiming they can provide the medication within 6 hours.

In contrast, when my husband took a prescription to Well Plus in Alloa, the prescription was filled promptly within 30 minutes. The efficiency and professionalism displayed at Well Plus were commendable. Central Pharmacy, on the other hand, may benefit from learning some tips on how to fulfill their responsibilities effectively.

Outstanding service! The cream I was prescribed was no longer available, but Sharon went above and beyond to find a suitable generic alternative, arranged for a new prescription with the doctor. Most other pharmacies would simply say "you can't get it." Central Pharmacy, however, is in a league of its own. A perfect 10 out of 10.
Rachel Ramos (18/06/2025, 05:34):
Totally baffled. It's unbelievable that anyone manages to pick up their prescription. What a joke!!!
Daisy Ward (16/06/2025, 16:54):
I can't believe the service I received at this pharmacy! They managed to lose my prescription and then tried to convince me that I never gave it to them, only to miraculously find it 30 minutes later. The staff was incredibly rude throughout the whole ordeal.
Linda Kim (15/06/2025, 16:08):
I was delighted to find my prescription here when other places couldn't help. The staff was exceptionally helpful. This will definitely be my go-to pharmacy from now on!
Teresa Kelly (14/06/2025, 21:35):
I reached out to the pharmacy to ask about the status of my prescription, but they told me they don't provide that information over the phone and I have to come in person to see if it's ready. In this day and age, especially with regular prescription deliveries, this policy just doesn't cut it. The quality of service at the pharmacy has really gone downhill.
Charles Lewis (04/06/2025, 21:29):
What a fantastic service from the team this morning! I had a phone consultation with the surgery and the medication was delivered by the pharmacy within an hour. I am incredibly grateful.👍👏
Daniel Richardson (03/06/2025, 21:26):
The staff at this pharmacy can be a bit sluggish at times, but overall they do a good job.
Roger Lopez (22/05/2025, 14:38):
The staff is super friendly and helpful. They always manage to have exactly what I'm looking for on my first visit.
Samantha Brown (21/05/2025, 08:32):
I ain't quite sure what's going on with this pharmacy. They were top-notch at first, but now they're outright refusing to provide prescription pickup times over the phone. Seems you gotta walk into the store 'cause they're too swamped to answer your calls!
Frank Powell (21/05/2025, 00:08):
I absolutely detest going to this pharmacy. The customer service is abysmal - I have to practically beg to be attended to upon entering. The staff approach me as if I were a delinquent, and to top it off, they refused to sell me prenatal vitamins claiming I should obtain them from my healthcare provider. What a blatant falsehood! In my opinion, the individuals here are amongst the most impolite I have encountered.
