The best store for miles around. The staff generally work hard and do their best. Everything under one roof, lots of variety, always fresh food, and good deals... except when the freezers are out! The clothing department has up-to-date styles and great prices with the club card. Plenty of parking, lots of space, and at least you never get wet! Good coffee too. The staff really make an effort to keep the store clean and stocked, and the outdoor areas are kept free of litter. Tesco can't seem to keep the beggars away from the door. They're not intimidating and you don't need support.

I've been to Tesco Extra in Accrington approximately 3 times a week for the past 8 years. I must say that most of the staff members are ignorant and miserable. I made it a point to smile and greet them all, and I am surprised at how rude they can be. The women are the worst of all, especially the blonde-haired supervisor. I greeted her and she blatantly ignored me, looking at me as if I were committing a crime. I usually use the self-checkout lanes, but two days ago, I decided to use a lane with a staff member. I couldn't believe how rude the staff member was - she didn't greet me but instead engaged in conversation with another staff member, making me feel like I was an inconvenience to her. There are a few male staff members who are polite, they greet me and acknowledge that I'm a regular customer, but the female staff members are extremely rude and dismissive. The security staff are also worth mentioning... a security guard saw me at the checkout, saw me pay for my items, then followed me straight to the customer service desk. He approached me, checked my bag, and verified each item against my receipt while I waited for assistance. I had already paid for everything and it made me extremely uncomfortable, I realized he was enjoying the power trip he was on.

Today (Saturday, June 7th, 2025) at the Tesco Cafe in Accrington, the wait times were just ridiculous, truly dreadful. We waited over 20 minutes just to order a coffee! And to top it off, we were informed that any food order would have an additional wait of 30 minutes.

The slowness was clearly evident; one employee seemed more concerned with fixing her hair than attending to customers or serving food. This unprofessional behavior directly contributed to the long queues and immense frustration.

A truly disappointing visit. Avoid it if you are in a hurry or expect basic service and efficiency.
