Exploring Well Pharmacy in Kirkliston: A Community Hub

Well Pharmacy, located in the heart of Kirkliston, serves as an essential resource for the local community. Despite some challenges, it aims to provide a comprehensive pharmacy experience with various service options to meet the needs of its customers.

Wheelchair Accessibility and Convenience

One notable aspect of Well Pharmacy is its wheelchair-accessible car park and entrance. This consideration is vital for ensuring that all members of the community, including those with mobility impairments, can access necessary services without inconvenience. However, experiences shared by customers indicate that the pharmacy occasionally struggles with staffing, leading to unexpected closures that can be particularly frustrating for expectant mothers and the elderly.

Customer Service and Community Engagement

The staff at Well Pharmacy generally receive positive feedback for their friendliness and willingness to help. Many customers express appreciation for the supportive atmosphere, describing the team as LGBTQ+ friendly and creating an inclusive environment. Nevertheless, some reviews point to inconsistent customer care, with reports of stressful interactions and miscommunication regarding prescription availability.

In-store Shopping and Service Options

For those who prefer in-store shopping, Well Pharmacy offers a range of health products and medications. Customers have noted the convenience of in-store pick-up for prescriptions. However, there are recurring complaints about long waiting times, often estimated at around 20 minutes, which can lead to frustration, especially during busy periods.

Flexible Payment Methods

Well Pharmacy accommodates various payment methods, including credit and debit cards and NFC mobile payments, enhancing the shopping experience. This flexibility allows customers to choose the payment option that best suits their needs.

Delivery and Quick Visits

For individuals unable to visit the pharmacy in person, Well Pharmacy does offer delivery services. However, some customers have expressed dissatisfaction with the efficiency of this service, indicating that communication could be improved. Quick visits for urgent prescriptions may not always be straightforward due to stock issues and staffing challenges.

Conclusion: A Community Resource with Room for Improvement

While Well Pharmacy in Kirkliston has established itself as a vital hub for the community, it faces several operational challenges that need addressing. From improving communication about service availability to ensuring that all customers receive the care and attention they deserve, there is room for growth. The pharmacy's commitment to accessibility and community engagement remains commendable, but enhanced focus on these areas could significantly improve the overall customer experience.

This chemist is absolutely rubbish, mate. They had the cheek to tell me I had no prescription to collect on a Saturday morning, only to text me later saying it was ready. And don't get me started on how they advise you to request your prescription a whole week in advance – some meds are time-sensitive, you know? It's against the law to stockpile certain medications like that. Shocking service, wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

We have frequented Well Pharmacy on a few occasions, particularly when Winchburgh Pharmacy is unable to fulfill our prescriptions due to a shortage of essential items. When it comes to baby care, we can always depend on Well Pharmacy for supplies. The staff is unfailingly polite and willing to assist, making our experience a pleasant one.

I visited the pharmacy on June 30th and found it closed for the entire day without any prior notice, apparently due to a shortage of pharmacists. I am quite perplexed as to why there was no apology or explanation provided on the website regarding this matter. This situation has undoubtedly caused significant inconvenience for many individuals.

The doctor ordered some heavy-duty painkillers to the chemist yesterday at lunchtime. I went there today at 16:30 only to find out that they didn't have the potent but ordinary drug in stock. It was like a pub running out of whisky. Apparently, they were taken by surprise that it was a bank holiday in England yesterday. If the doctor offers you the option to pick up the prescription yourself, do it. Now, I'm facing the prospect of spending the rest of the day and a night without sleep in intense pain. Thanks a lot, Well Pharmacy.

I took some time off work this morning to pick up my medications, and when I got there, they didn't have them. It's absolutely shocking!
Gabriel Kim (13/05/2025, 01:04):
This place is an absolute joke, I strongly suggest seeking out an alternative pharmacy for your needs.
Vincent Morales (11/05/2025, 17:39):
Always packed with people. It takes around 20 minutes to get your prescription filled.
Eugene Bennett (01/05/2025, 19:58):
The lack of customer care and compassion is deeply disappointing. I have never encountered such an uncaring pharmacist before. I made two visits to collect a prescription for a housebound individual. During the first visit on Monday, there was no pharmacist present on the premises. On my second visit on Tuesday, I received the recently prescribed medication but not the much-needed, overdue dosette box.

When I called the pharmacist about the missing item, their response was insensitive. They asked if someone else could collect it, even though the person had already made two unsuccessful trips. The pharmacist then suggested that the dosette box could either be delivered on Thursday or collected at the housebound person's expense via taxi. It is concerning that they were willing to entrust the prescription to a stranger for delivery.

It is unfortunate that I had to rate this experience with just one star.
Jessica Peterson (01/05/2025, 03:09):
I relocated here a year ago and have been visiting Well Pharmacy regularly. The team is super friendly and the pharmacist is absolutely fantastic! 👍
Gary Reyes (20/04/2025, 08:23):
I must say, I had a rather unpleasant experience with the pharmacist at this establishment. A stout lady with questionable footwear and cropped hair saw fit to lock me inside the shop and involve the authorities on grounds that I was allegedly unwilling to vacate the premises! All because I dared inquire about their complaints procedure.

Her demeanor was less than amiable. In my attempts to address the issues at hand, her response was a curt "who do you think you are talking to?" She went so far as to instruct me to "shut it", and proceeded to divulge my personal details to the entire store. There was no semblance of a consultation; she simply refused to lend an ear or offer any assistance.

To top it all off, she resorted to dialing emergency services... the woman is clearly not operating on all cylinders! My advice? Steer clear. Head to Winchburgh instead.
