Rowlands Pharmacy: A Mixed Bag of Service in Newport on Tay

Rowlands Pharmacy in Newport on Tay, located in Fife, has become a topic of conversation among locals due to its fluctuating customer service levels. Many residents find themselves making a quick visit to this pharmacy, often relying on their services for urgent needs. The accessibility features like a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible car park make it convenient for all visitors.

Payment Options at Rowlands Pharmacy

When it comes to payments, Rowlands Pharmacy accommodates various methods including credit cards, debit cards, and NFC mobile payments. This flexibility allows customers to choose the most convenient way to complete their transactions.

Customer Reviews Highlighting Accessibility and Service

While some patrons report positive experiences, others share frustrations that highlight inconsistencies in service. One user noted, “The staff and pharmacist whom I spoke with were helpful and welcoming,” indicating a potential for excellent service. In contrast, another individual stated they experienced "horrendous service," expressing disappointment with staff engagement. Despite these critiques, many agree that the staff show effort, especially during peak times when patience is required. As one customer explained, “You can always see the staff working away in the back,” illustrating that although they may sometimes be overwhelmed, they are indeed working hard.

Challenges Faced by Staff

The mixed reviews suggest that Rowlands Pharmacy is navigating a challenging environment. Some reports mention staff "walking around like lifeless zombies," which hints at possible morale issues or staffing shortages. Acknowledging these difficulties, one review purports, “I feel very sorry for the staff, as they are clearly trying to operate in a crisis situation."

Opportunities for Improvement

Critics have pointed out specific areas needing attention, such as communication about prescription availability and operational hours. Customers have noted, “Prescriptions used to take two days to process, now take over a week,” highlighting a downward trend in reliability. Implementing better systems and ensuring adequate staffing could alleviate many issues currently faced by the pharmacy and its customers.

Conclusion: A Pharmacy in Flux

Rowlands Pharmacy in Newport on Tay offers essential services but must tackle the considerable challenges that have impacted customer satisfaction. With their range of payment options and accessibility features, they are well-positioned to serve the community effectively. However, improving customer service and addressing operational inefficiencies will be crucial for restoring their reputation and meeting the needs of their patrons.

Jack Turner (21/07/2025, 07:10):
I had a jolly good experience at this pharmacy, I must say! The chaps and lasses on the staff, as well as the pharmacist I had a natter with, were ever so helpful and welcoming. They made sure me prescription was spot on, and when I inquired about a particular product, they went above and beyond to ensure I picked the right one.

This pharmacy has had its fair share of challenges, but me recent visits for me repeat prescriptions have been quite pleasant and effortless, which is always a plus when it comes to getting better, innit?
Emma Kim (20/07/2025, 02:21):
The folks over at this pharmacy are just top-notch, I tell you. They're friendly, efficient, and always ready to lend a hand. The pharmacist I had the pleasure of meeting today really went above and beyond to assist me. Just a heads up, though - they take a lunch break from 13:00 to 14:00, but it seems Google hasn't caught wind of that update just yet. No worries, though, you can find the info posted on their door and website. Cheers!
Mark Stewart (18/07/2025, 18:41):
I've always found the team to be very helpful and welcoming. You can often catch a glimpse of them hard at work in the rear, clearly managing the influx of customers in this cozy space. I don't mind waiting a few minutes for my prescription knowing they're doing their best!
Joyce Wright (11/07/2025, 03:47):
I've been waiting for my prescription for 8 days now, they said it would be delivered but it hasn't arrived yet and I can't seem to get through to them on the phone. What's happening over there??
Mark Gray (07/07/2025, 13:24):
Good pharmacy, wide variety of products. No problems with parking.
Mark Kim (07/07/2025, 12:29):
"Oi, these blokes ignore the blimmin' phone 9 times out of 10, it's proper rubbish!"
Roger Green (06/07/2025, 17:45):
The staff were incredibly helpful, I arrived just 10 minutes before closing time needing an item from Pharmacy First. The lady who assisted me was so accommodating and reassuring.
Daisy Morgan (03/07/2025, 06:34):
The team at this pharmacy is always super helpful and really knows their stuff, mate!
Evelyn Ford (25/06/2025, 05:05):
This pharmacy used to be top-notch. However, they are now refusing to fill prescriptions just because one item is out of stock, even when dealing with two separate prescriptions. This is unacceptable. Additionally, leaving notes on prescription bags instructing customers to seek a review is inappropriate. It's the doctor's decision, not the pharmacist's. This pharmacy needs to address these issues promptly, as missing prescriptions are a complete disgrace.
Stephanie Watson (25/06/2025, 02:30):
The staff is so helpful and even had a Q&A session with them. It was brilliant!
Juan Allen (23/06/2025, 09:58):
I do say, why doth they neglect to answer thy TELEPHONE!
Russell Kim (23/06/2025, 02:24):
After waiting in the queue for 30 minutes, I was informed about a new system where we need to call 7-10 days before the prescription is due to ensure it's ready on time. The service has deteriorated over the past year, and it's disappointing to see such changes in what was once a great pharmacy.
Christopher Kim (22/06/2025, 07:22):
The pharmacy insists that I must call in my CMS prescription request 10 days ahead of time, but the doctor's office maintains that it is not my role to determine what I need, as that is not how CMS operates.
Carol Perez (22/06/2025, 01:15):
I must express my sympathy for the staff, who are clearly facing a crisis situation, but the service provided is truly dreadful. The pharmacy has significantly reduced its operating hours without informing customers; the phone rings incessantly for hours before someone finally answers. Upon arriving today to pick up a prescription, I was met with a large queue that took me about 30 minutes to navigate before entering the shop, only to witness the chaotic scene inside. Staff were scrambling to locate medications, some of which were either out of stock or unavailable, resulting in customers being turned away and advised to return another day. While I believe the staff are doing their best and that this situation is not entirely their fault, it serves as another indication of the declining state of our NHS and Welfare System. As a result, I will be switching to Leuchars Pharmacy.
Olivia Ross (21/06/2025, 16:55):
The staff is so friendly. The chemist offers consultations for minor ailments and also provides prescription services.
Tyler Torres (17/06/2025, 13:39):
This pharmacy was quite good in the past. However, the service has declined significantly, almost negligently so. It appears that they have adopted a policy of not answering the telephone. It seems that the new owners are putting profit above proper staffing and care for patients.
Matthew Ortiz (03/06/2025, 09:03):
The service has taken a nosedive lately. It used to be a top-notch pharmacy where the staff were always so friendly and helpful. But now, they just wander around like zombies, completely disinterested in assisting customers. They might as well hire some gerbils to manage the place - it would probably be the same level of service and save them some money.
