Understanding Rowlands Pharmacy City Hospital in Aberdeen

Rowlands Pharmacy, located within the City Hospital in Aberdeen, serves as a crucial healthcare facility for many residents. However, recent reviews highlight several issues that both current and potential customers should consider.

Service Options and Accessibility

Rowlands Pharmacy offers various service options, but the effectiveness of these services has been called into question. Customers have expressed frustration with long wait times and inadequate staff communication. Instances where prescriptions were not ready or staff appeared disorganized contribute to a negative perception of customer service. Moreover, accessibility is an important aspect of Rowlands Pharmacy. The facility includes a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible car park, making it easier for those with mobility challenges to access their medications. However, some customers reported feeling judged or discriminated against when asking for assistance, highlighting a need for improved training on customer care and sensitivity to individuals with disabilities.

Payment Options Available

When it comes to payments, Rowlands Pharmacy accepts both credit cards and debit cards, which provides convenience for many customers. Additionally, the pharmacy has begun to embrace NFC mobile payments, further modernizing the payment process. However, customers have mentioned that the staff often seem overwhelmed and unhelpful when it comes to handling payment processes, which can add to the frustration of an already stressful experience.

In-store Pick-Up Issues

The in-store pick-up system is intended to streamline the collection of medications. However, numerous reviews indicate problems with this service. Patients have reported arriving for their prescriptions only to find that they are not ready, leading to unnecessary delays. This inconsistency has prompted some to feel disrespected and undervalued as customers. It’s essential for the pharmacy to improve their workflow to ensure timely fulfillment of prescriptions, especially for patients who rely on their medications regularly.

Customer Experiences: A Mixed Bag

While there are certainly positive experiences reported—such as friendly and helpful staff who went above and beyond—these are overshadowed by numerous complaints about rude behavior and lackluster service. For instance, one customer described being mocked by staff members regarding their medication needs, which is unacceptable behavior for any healthcare professional. Conversely, some testimonials express gratitude towards certain employees who provided excellent service, emphasizing that good customer interactions can make a significant difference in the overall experience.

Conclusion

In summary, Rowlands Pharmacy at City Hospital offers essential services to the community but is facing challenges regarding customer service, staff training, and efficiency. While the pharmacy is equipped with important accessibility features and modern payment options, there is a clear opportunity for improvement in how staff interact with customers and manage their workload. Ensuring that every visitor feels respected and valued will be key in enhancing the reputation of Rowlands Pharmacy.

Hey mate, make sure you get your medications.

The staff is always friendly and helpful every time I visit. Thank you.
Evelyn Smith (25/06/2025, 23:31):
I received some top-notch and invaluable guidance regarding the NHS Minor Ailments Service. I'm chuffed as I reside just around the corner!
Jason Cruz (20/06/2025, 07:45):
It's quite disheartening to hear about your experience with the pharmacy. It's essential for individuals with mobility challenges to receive timely and respectful assistance, especially when it comes to vital medication. It seems like there was a lack of understanding and empathy from the pharmacy staff in this situation. Feeling judged and unsupported can be very frustrating, particularly when you are housebound and rely on others for help.

It's crucial to address these issues and seek out a pharmacy that prioritizes customer care and inclusivity. Discrimination in any form should not be tolerated, and everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their circumstances. I hope you find a new pharmacy that meets your needs and provides the support you require.

This pharmacy is the absolute worst in town, mate. It took me bloody ages - over 10 minutes! - just to get me hands on one prescription! Can you believe it? And get this, there were 4 women working there and 3 of them were just standing around twiddling their thumbs. Absolutely ridiculous if you ask me.
Louis Davis (16/06/2025, 06:58):
I must say, I had a rather alarming experience at the pharmacy. When I arrived at 5:45 pm to pick up my prescription, two female employees seemed clueless about its whereabouts. They proceeded to bicker among themselves about checking the basket. Then, at 5:50 pm, a male pharmacist claimed that the prescription had been sent off-site and advised me to return the next day, citing a supposed rule about no pickups after 5:45 pm (even though the store is open until 6 pm). Moreover, the pharmacists were overheard discussing the mixing of my medication. When I made them aware that I could hear their conversation, they miraculously found my medication in the back within 30 seconds.

The behavior displayed by all staff members was utterly unacceptable. Their dishonesty regarding closing times just to leave early, and their careless attitude towards the mixing of medication, which could have serious consequences, is appalling. Giving them 1 star is being overly generous in my opinion.
Elizabeth Sullivan (15/06/2025, 12:34):
If I could grant 10 stars 🌟, I would do so gladly. Eimear and the entire team are not only friendly and helpful but also go the extra mile to provide aid and guidance. No task is too daunting for them, even during bustling times. They consistently find moments to offer advice or assistance. When my mother fell ill and required MAR sheets due to a heavy medication regimen, they were outstanding and provided much-needed support. I cannot express my gratitude enough.
Alice Evans (07/06/2025, 22:49):
I usually don't leave negative reviews, but I must say that my experiences at this pharmacy have been consistently disappointing. I've been ridiculed for the prescriptions I've submitted, in front of other customers. My regular prescriptions are always delayed, and the staff, as well as the pharmacists, have been consistently impolite.
Angela Stewart (07/06/2025, 02:42):
Top-notch service, always accommodating and helpful.
