I have been a Boots customer for over 5 years, but today I had the worst experience ever at the Galashiels store, specifically at the counter for prescribed medicines. I handed in my prescription as usual and was told to wait for 5-10 minutes. I decided to do a bit of shopping in the store while waiting, and when I returned to the counter, I noticed that many people were being served. Several customers were called, some of whom weren't even there, and I stood there patiently, feeling ignored.

After waiting for 10 minutes, I finally asked if there was any chance I would receive my antibiotics soon. A woman told me that I should have informed them that I was there. I explained that usually, the man calls out the patients' names to give them their medications, as I had seen during previous visits. Despite my explanation, she insisted that my name hadn't been called and implied that I might not have been present. However, I knew for certain that I had been there before the man came out to handle the prescriptions.

My name was never called, and after everyone else had been served, only men's names were being called. I felt singled out and overlooked as a female customer. The man then moved to another counter to assist 2-3 people with nappies, etc. When he returned, I hoped it was finally my turn, but to my disappointment, he started serving new arrivals instead.

When I dared to ask about my medication, I felt as though I was being stared at like an idiot, and one woman even tried to shift the blame onto me. It wasn't until I expressed my frustration that she reluctantly apologized, though it didn't feel genuine. I left the store feeling humiliated and extremely disappointed. I have no intention of returning to this shop again.
